Prediction: Boudreau fired if the Caps lose tonight.
About 2 seasons late. He's never been a defense-first (or second, or third) coach.
He's one of those coaches players can't take seriously. That's fine when the coach lets the players play however they want, but now that he's asking them to play a different style they don't particularly enjoy, they've tuned him out. There's no respect there.
That 24/7 series was eye opening and not in a good way for Boudreau.

Funny how some around here and on that other message board were all up in arms after his first season with the Caps because the Kings let him go (Monarchs), instead of promoting him.
Whether it was missing his family or unhappy with Terry Murray's style, we will probably never know.
Oh I see what you did there. One of those "I am not saying your mother is a prostitute" out of nowhere. Yeah, he asked for a trade because he was unhappy with the Terry Murray's style of play.
And the loss came against Terry Murray and the kings.
Just sayin'.
I watched the Pitt game against the Blues. It was like watching a Mirror of the Kings. I swear it looked like the exact same team. The Pens could not get through on offense.
Couple lucky bounces DUE TO HARD WORK. BLues win.
The Pitt announcers were saying how boring the games was lol.
You know he is a Defense first coach right? The Blues had exactly what Kings fans want. Speed/SKill plus a open speed system coach (Payne).
And they fired him.
Correct. The Blues are where the Kings were before Murray. Hitchcock will be around for a few years, teach them defense and then move on. Murray has a 3 year shelf life, he's out of code.
Hitchcock's teams weren't defense only though. He's got a cup ring too. Dallas was 8th in offense when they won the cup.

I agree Hitch will be fired in about 3 to 4 years.
When I see his name I always think of him eliminating Turgeon in the playoffs. Boudreau had lost the team and has failed to maximize the potential of quite a few of those guys. And I honestly think the interview on 24/7 with BBQ sauce on his face ruined his reputation.
