You guys who think it's this thread's fault are pathetic. HFBoards isn't magic, and it doesn't affect the player's performance. He's just in a little slump.

Marian is turning into the 2010-11 version, passing the puck to much, he has arguibly the best shot in the NHL, shoot man, and u get hit 50. Its not like hes playing bad, hes playing great, but shot more gabby.

Best shot in the NHL? His go-to shot is where he pulls the puck inside his body, a little out in front of him, and gets off a weak shot from the outside. It's almost offensive to goalies.

He's passing the puck too much because he's being relied on too much to carry the puck through the neutral zone himself, which was the problem last season. The theory behind acquiring Brad Richards was that Richards would carry the puck through the neutral zone and allow Gaborik to find open space to get a shot off but obviously that hasn't played out.

Stepan has been deferring to Gaborik too much and everyone has been feeding him the puck far too early. Gaborik shouldn't even be touching the puck until it's already in offensive zone.

This thread always ends in disappointment. Gaborik is on pace to barely break 40 goals now.

We have had "Countdown to 50" threads for Gaborik every season, and he has still yet to score 50 goals. Sometimes it's just better to let the chips fall where they may. If he scores, 50 goals great. We don't need a thread documenting every goal. Lundqvist has managed to put up 30+ win seasons every year in the league without a thread dedicated to counting down his wins.

I don't believe in Jinxes or superstitions.

But the coincidence of this thread and his goal drought is uncanny.

Someone should start a Lundqvist countdown to 10 shutouts thread

I'm trying to imagine Gaborik doing the 'jump into the glass' goal celebration. Can't picture it. That should be a prerequisite for making the NHL.

I think 40 is a much more realistic expectation.

Don't really think Gabby will reach 50, that's kind of a reach. 40 is probably a better estimate. To be honest I couldn't care less how many he scores, yeah he's getting paid well but as long as he's consistently contributing and we're winning games I won't complain about him.

And the jinx sayers are just trying to semi-unjinxed it by stating that it's jinxed and bracing themselves for the eventual slump haha. He'll get to 40 I hope, I'm sure Torts will "revamp" the line ups again (which will only happen when we start to slump, so let's hope I didn't jinx that as well...haha) and hopefully, at one point or another, Gaborik can find a line that he will be able to gel with for longer than a "stretch of games" or even a season and a half. Imagine that.

wouldn't mind that at all. and then make a video tribute with all the fist pumps. While we're on the topic of fist pumps, the msg feed simply does not put enough camera time on Torts and his fist pumps. I tell ya, once I collect enough Tort fist pump clips, it'll be my screen saver and on the side, there will be Sully's classic smile, nod and clap.

Only reason he doesn't do that is because he'll most likely get injured

Gaborik's stats before this thread was made:

14 GP - 9G - 6A - 15 PTS, +8

After this thread was made:

6GP - 1G - 1A - 2PTS, -4

I vote to lock her up

Why does he have to jump into the glass?

**** that.

Let's go to the Devils board and start a Brodeur countdown to 10 shutouts thread, a countdown to 50 goals for Kovalchuk, and a countdown to Parise re-signing thread

Its a prerequisite for any hockey player. I don't have to see a player do it, I just have to be able to imagine the guy doing it.

ha Ha HAHAHA
So the reason a player sucks and you dont like him is because.......he doesn't express his enthusiasm in a way you'd prefer?

So what if he start? Would his shot magically become stronger and more accurate? Would his previous 40 goal seasons become legitimate?

What a hack.

Lots of guys don't do it. Gaborik is the only one who can't do it. Seriously, try to picture it. You won't.

Answer me, and the other people that have asked you, this.

Why the f does that matter?

So he does a fist pump and a big grin instead. So WHAT?

You have no leg to stand on, really just think about what you're criticizing in a player. Not how good they are or anything but the way they....celebrate.
