Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren announced Friday that van Riemsdyk is expected to miss one-to-two weeks with an upper-body injury, the Flyers official site reports.
The Flyers issued an earlier statement that van Riemsdyk is expected out 1-2 weeks, and Holmgren said a best-case scenario for his return would be Friday, Dec. 2 at Anaheim. The Flyers catch a break in the fact that they are off after Saturday’s game until resuming action in Anaheim.
Holmgren said JVR’s injury occurred in the third period on Wednesday.
“He went to pass the puck and has a little bit of an upper body injury now,” Holmgren said.
The general manager said that JVR wasn’t hit when he suffered the injury.
