what a joke this organization is. Anyone dreamig of Jody Shelley going on waivers can now put it to rest. The organization will never waive Jody Shelley. Lets put a valuable 4th liner on waivers instead.

No chance Shelley would get claimed, but very good chance Nodl will by re-entry at latest. Could Homer not trade him for anything?

Too many prospects passed him. Once Read and Couturier demonstrated they could score AND work the PK, Nodl's only option was to beat out Shelley...

Nobody beats out Superstar Shelley.

Thus waivers.

I'd be absolutely shocked if he's not claimed.

Eh, probably better for him. Once Schenn goes back he probably wasn't going to be in the lineup anyway. I liked Nodl but I don't think this team is really going to miss him. We have plenty of capable fourth liners to fill in when injuries occur. I'd rather see Shelley waived, but this isn't a big deal IMO.

Why waive Nodl when we could just send down Harry Z without waivers?

Stupid move! They are repeating the mistakes they have already committed on the blue line where they were sending down a servicable bottom pairing guy in Bartulis and now that injuries are piling up they can't recall him.

Who needs options? We want fighters and good locker-room types.

I guess Nodl didn't sign on for Dumb Island.

We apparently need the Superstar to headline 24/7. Shelley=ratings gold.

I hope he is picked up by somebody.. Give the kid a damn chance to play somewhere. He is a good 3/4 line player but the flyers value Jody SHelley over the kid.

Baffled how someone wouldn't give a 4th or a 3rd for him.

I don't know why people are shocked it was Nodl over Shelley.. I think we all know Shelley is finishing at least this year with the Flyers. Maybe at the beginning of next year after training camp we waive him? Nodl is what he is. Not a big lose at all. And no team will give 3rd or 4th for him. No chance At best I would expect a 5th from a team desperate, more likely a 6th. If he is claimed, it does clear a contract though.... Maybe homer has somehing brewing?

I hope so.. If pronger is going to keep going down, we need a solid defender..

It's not as bad as sending down Bartulis. Wellwood, Holmstrom have shown they can fill in if need be. Plus having someone untested, like Testwuide, on the fourth line isn't quite the same as having to go to Bourdon and Marshall on defense (we're lucky that Bourdon has shaped up his game considerably).

The writing was on the wall for Nödl with the play of Zolnierczyk and Rinaldo. I was still hoping we could get a pick for him though, he is still a serviceable 4th liner imo. I think if the decision was up to me, I would have played it safe and kept Nödl on the roster though, and sent Zolnierczyk and Rinaldo down to work on their pk skills, since they don't have to clear waivers. I don't think it's that much of a difference between these two and Nödl. They do add more sandpaper and grit though.

I hope he clears though. He would be a pretty good player to add for the Phantoms, and there's always next year. Who knows what will happen then.

Edit: Ok, so with this Pronger thing, if we're looking to add a replacement for him, I guess I hope Nödl doesn't clear so it open up a contract spot.

I actually do haha. I have faith that he will get us a depth D-man for a pick. Just have to take a look and see who's available. I'm not a homer hater and criticize him when he makes bad moves, but overall this team is competitive and always contending and thats what I ask for

I think there is a move in the works. A defenseman coming back to the flyers.

Adding Suter to the roster now without sending back any salary beside Schenn means keeping Pronger on LTIR for the rest of the season - they are too close against the cap.
