Haven't the Flyers had a hard-on for Ryan for quite some time?

I could have sworn there were rumors about trading up in the 2005 draft to get him (I could be wrong here though).

He and Clarke had a close relationship when he lived in Cherry Hill. He was playing for the junior flyers (I'm pretty sure), and his father was serving prison time. Clarke served as a father figure if I recall.

I'd LOVE to have him come in, regardless of us being deep offensively already. Schenn, Carle, 1st? Add more to get Sbisa involved? (Sbisa's apparently demanded a trade, via a friend of mine from Cali who's a big Ducks fan)

At this point, less Carle might = more defense.

I don't know, I really love what Bobby Ryan brings to the table. If we can get him one of their D-men in some sort of package deal, I would do it in a heart beat.

Gonna throw a proposal out there

Voracek
Schenn
Carle
3rd

for

Ryan
Sbisa
2nd

I doubt they'd throw in the higher pick with Voracek and Carle both upcoming FAs. But I'd do something similar. Even if we're thin on defense, you don't pass up a chance at Bobby Ryan imo.

RFA at the end of the season is fine though. Carle would be the only UFA going the other way. Even though Voracek would be a free agent at the end of the season, they still own his rights so I don't think that would be a problem.

Maybe

Voracek
Hartnell
Carle
3rd

for

Ryan
Sbisa

Just throwing some stuff around

Second Bold I completely agree with

I.C.B is saying that the Flames have a big deal ready to go down. He didnt say who it was with or what player, but all he said is they are awaiting the player to approve the deal.... Take it for what it's worth. He would actually be a good source if he wasn't a moron. He needs to learn he has to be respectable in that business and not call other people fakes and other names. He could be good, but not if he continues to be the way he is

And please god, stop with the Ryan proposals..
I like a good ole american player as much as the next guy, but replacing Carle for Sbisa is idiotic

Right now I would rather have Sbisa at the age of 21 and still developing, then Matt Carle going into his prime as a turnover machine

Yeah, after a few years of waiting for Carle to improve I haven't seen enough progress from him to make me believe this isn't just about the best he's going to be.

Schenn + Carle + next years first for Ryan and Sbisa. Then JVR + 1st for Suter.

The only problem here is schenn got the Kings Richards. Ryan isn't as good as Richards is. I feel if we made a deal with them Voracek and another piece would be involved with a pick.

Don't have a problem with giving up next year's first, but I'd have a difficult time with this year's seeing as how deep that draft will be, especially how front loaded it'll be with defensemen. And I still think the idea of acquiring Suter is a fallacy. Too many people are still banking on that like it's 100% going to happen.

Only if you whisper.

To be serious though, yes, I believe it is. I think there's been some horse racing discussed here at times.
