Psyched to see Schenn get back out there. Hopefully it comes soon.

I have no problem with Couturier and Talbot on the 4th line, as good as they are when they play together at ES or on the PK. I also wouldn't have a problem putting Schenn at 4C until he gets back up to speed.

Read isn't bad at C, but I think Schenn will force him to move over eventually. Read is more of a winger to me.

If we leave the top two lines together for now, then the next two could be moved around:

Talbot - Couturier - Voracek
Nodl/HZ/ZR -Schenn - Read

That's a pretty good bottom 6, and until Briere is pushed to the wing, Schenn and Couts are going to be 3C/4C for the foreseeable future - which is fine since they are both in their apprenticeship stage.

Regarding Talbot's offensive outburst, there aren't many on here who will remember Talbot in Jr, but he was an star in the Memorial Cup a couple years in a row. Can't remember if they won it or not, but he always had lots of offensive skill then, it just got stifled in Pitt. Heck, if not for a great save by Boosh, he would've scored a beauty SHG last game on set up from Giroux.
Like I said before we do not want to break up Talbot's line. All 3 players on this line are rolling. You just do not mess with such chemistry.

When Schenn comes back, he needs to replace Simmonds.

Couterier to defensemen, Schenn to Couterier's spot.

Its a weird suggestion, but it might work. Now that you posted this I really want to see them try it for a game or two.

Can't be worse than having Lilja in, can it?

I mean the play where Meszaros ****ed up and Couterier just smoothly and instinctively filled in the other defensive spot and got the puck back showed he wouldn't be completely lost.

And that way we don't have to send Harry Z or anyone else away.

Scheen activatd and loaned to ADK. Along with Marshall per Flyers twitter. Harry Z also recalled

"#Flyers have activated (F) Brayden Schenn from IR & loaned him & (D) Kevin Marshall to ADK & recalled Harry Zolnierczyk from Trenton (ECHL)"

Putting Couturier on defense would be the dumbest thing I've seen in a while.

You are crazy if think moving Couturier to defense is a good idea. That is something you do out necessity with a veteran guy. You don't change your 18 year old, first roun pick's position. He needs minutes at forward to continue his growth.

So, one of Pronger/Coburn is ready to return?

Edit: Just saw that Coburn travelled with the team

Coburn is probably in. Pronger was ruled out already for Wednesday.

Schenn's potential line mates with Adirondack are Denis Hamel and Mike Testwuide.

What's Jagr's status?

I've seen reports that he might be ok to play tonight? Seems a bit soon for a groin injury on a 39 year old...

More than likely, he will play tonight though not 100%. He traveled and that is a good sign. Probably will take a pregame skate and go from there.

He traveled with the team to NY so he probably will play I would think. It was only slight pull to they just want it to be 100% healthy to risk any further injury to it

What do you expect from those who graduated from "Hollywood Upstairs Medical College?"

Schenn broke a bone in his foot six weeks ago. That's the norm that it takes for a bone in the foot to heal. And, when you consider that a lot of teams are using hyperbaric chambers to help the recovery process, you can knock a week to ten days off that.

Now, I take my shots at the medical staff in Philadelphia quite often, but this time, they erred on the side of caution with Schenn. The six week recovery period is more than enough time and sending him down to Adirondack to get back into game shape was a positive move they made.

How's Schenn been doing in ADK? Saw he scored a goal over the weekend. Any chance he'll be back for Friday's game?

I don't see an article for it, but Schenn has been recalled.

Honestly, I hope he gets some damn good time on the ice. Would still love to see him and Couts on the PP.

Couts-Giroux-Voracek
Timonen-Coburn

Hartnell-Schenn-Briere
Carle-Mez

Something like that.

I would not tear apart the 3rd line just yet.
Let Schenn center Briere and Simmonds at least as long as JVR is out!

we know Lavi isn't going to move Briere back to wing, even though he should. Is Jagr back next game?

I would switch Simmonds and Voracek to have a passing partner for #48
