Woah awesome! Obviously he's there while Pacio is suspended but theres a chance he takes over Palushaj's ''first up in case of injury'' spot. Depends how his game translates to the NHL I guess... Palushaj is more experienced and a better AHL player but he can't create anything in the NHL, reminds me of Maxwell.

Leblanc needs to be very dynamic and work extremely hard but fortunately he's known to be strong in this aspect. Hopefully he's in his top physical form atm so he can play his game in the NHL. Imho he's the most interesting prospect since Subban&Pacioretty. I'm not trying to take away any merit from our army of rookie defensemen of course.

Who says he is the only option as you put it? Maybe the Habs literally wanted to see what the kid can do for a few games. Leblanc is a first round pick how has done well at all levels he has played. He has 10 points in his first 14 games in the AHL and I don't see why he would not be called up.

How was Patch close to being traded? I don't remember hearing one rumor of the sort. He didn't "call out" Habs brass, he just stated that he felt that being in the NHL getting top line minutes would be better for his development then playing limited minutes on the 4th line in Montreal. I agree with Mike, you are interpreting things as you see fit.

I guess we could have called another guy with 10 points, Phil DeSimone.
As i said the LL call up is desperation, not because he earned anything .
Our season is on the line, what this team doesn't need is more ahl players.

As for Pacman ,read post 121, you'll see the light .

He's contributed well so far for the Bulldogs. He has the best PPG ratio on the team (excluding Palushaj&Trotter) which is good considering he wasn't expected to be leading this team offensively especially after missing camp and being one of the Dogs' youngest players.

I'm not against Louis , my expectation for him as a NHL player is very high.

As i've said , it isn't the right time .

The GM of the Bulldogs already tanked their season, and the same GM is teeter on doing the same in MTL .

I don't think they called him up to play on the 4th line. If they were going to do that then they would have just called up a 4th line player.

Could work. When Pacio's back keep the same lineup (Pacio instead of Leblanc).
Leblanc plays RW, the first mistake JM could make is putting him on his wrong wing...move Moen who is hot on DDs line and put Leblanc with Eller and AK.

Darche-Nokelainen 82.6% of his ice time
Moen-Nokelainen 10.2% of his ice time

yeah was Elliot Friedman in his 30 thoughts column.. They were hoping pg would trade him in same fashion they did grabo and sergei... Lesson learned I guess haha

We'd be rushing Leblanc if we don't send him down after those 3 games. Hopefully he won't get more than 6 extra games with the big team this year. I don't think it will do Leblanc much good to see more than 9 NHL games this year.

Where does it say anything in post 121 about Paches wanting a trade?

I don't see it as desperation at all. A guy got suspended, we needed a body because of injuries and Leblanc was the logical one to be called up.

I'm totally supportive of calling up Leblanc... Unlike other players rushed up too early, he's not a single-minded offensive player. He's a good two-way player with speed. If he can also chip in offensively, it's a bonus... He won't hurt us and it'll give him a good feel of what he needs for the next step.

Doesn't DeSimone only have a minor league contract (implying that they actually need to sign him before being able to call him up)? If so, haven't people also mentioned that we are close to the total contract limit?

Assuming I haven't put my foot in my mouth I think that's part of the reason to choose LL over DeSimone

So, who wants to bet he ends up playing on the 4th line?

Classic Habs mentality indicates that he will have to "work" for the offensive line minutes unless he pulls a MaxPac and calls out the organization.

I wrote an article yesterday afteroon on Leblanc, guess my timing was good, didn't expect him to get called up this soon though.

He's 2nd on the team in shots with 48 in 14 games.

Well they don't play till Friday and last I heard Dumont and Conboy were close to returning so hopefully both are good. Plus maybe they will send St-Denis down if Markov can go.

He also becomes the 1st player from our '09 draft to play a game for the Habs and for Timmins he becomes the 25th draft pick to play a game for the Habs (assuming he dresses)

Are we sure that Leblanc will play or he's just back up ? That means that Weber won't play as forward ?? Great !

As much as this is a small fear of mine as well, given his non-negligible cap hit, it would make absolutely no sense not to dress him after calling him up

I'm liking the idea of Eller and Leblanc together.
Louis is great at cycling the puck!

Moen Desharnais Cole
Camms Plekanec Gionta
Kosti Eller Leblanc
Darche Noko Palushaj

Either way you look at it, the Habs are losing their best scorer for 3 games. Not good!
