I suspect the NHL thinks that this will make up for all of the bias against us in the past.

so what. who cares really. stick to the head=no suspension. the NHL is solidly establishing itself as a bush-league.

I think it was when Neal falled on the ice in the neutral zone and his stick hit the Subban head. Can't explain much. Wait for a video.

EDIT: Pens fans are crying and are blaming Subban....

One less ivory backscratcher for Neal.

lol Seriously? What's the point? I guess they figure Neal did it on purpose. It's not like Subban was injured on the play.

I took note of that high-stick during the game and remember it clearly. I don't think this is an attempt to appease Habs fans at all. He's been around the block enough to be aware of the "Pretend I'm falling and get a high-stick in" routine and is letting guys like Neal know he's not a fan of that tactic.

What a stupid decision. Honestly, makes me think he felt he ****ed up. Because that did not deserve a fine. It was pure accidental.

I would disagree with this one but hey at least we know players can be disciplined for actions vs the Habs.

What a joke, why is that even worth a fine? Call the high-stick during the game and just leave it at that. Hundreds of stick violations go on per year, and they target this? This league is just lost.

I figured once I saw it was Subban who got hit with the high stick it was on purpose. I could hear it clearly during the play.

Where's the slew foot? Subban's foot moves along the boards, Neal's left foot doesn't even leave the ice.

He did slew foot the player though. It's a clear as day. PK has to stop using his feet like that.

So Neal makes 2 875 000$ and he's fined 2 500$ that's like someone making 50 000$ fined 43$. A parking ticket.

You want to send a message? make it 25 000$ for the player and 25 000$ for the team. Send the money to charity. What a joke.

Except he shouldn't be fined at all... if anyone should get fined, though no one should have, it should be Subban.

Yea they definitely fined the wrong person in this situation. Its pretty clear that subban put his foot behind Neals ankle and lifted it up causing him to fall.
