I am thrilled with Dale's early moves. Dale has been watching. I doubt Muller and his paltry 1200 career PIMs have been.
Orlov needs to be groomed to pinch hit for when Green goes down next, on the PP proper.
Sarge is mired in mediocrity from a development stand point for 100 games now, and I suspect Dale sees it. Previous attempts at sitting Sarge seemed to have made him hungry.
Its Hammer time. He is here whether we like it or not. I suspect Bruce's all defensive defensemen are interchangable with the centers approach really hurt Hammers game. I will buck the trend and say if Dale abandons making our DD take unneeded risks, hammer will prove to be a decent signing. Hannan was a mess early on too. These are 2 NHL rocks.
Interesting. Dale played with some of the game's premier defensemen. Perhaps he understands what they need to succeed
If they're not up for this game...then, uh....we're gonna need a bigger boat.
I'd tell you to manage your expectations. If what I fear is true, that Bruce has utterly confused our players with whatever it was he was trying to do from a systems perspective, they will still be confused tonight. It will take Dale a few weeks to right the ship if that is the case.
Cue up the Semin Sarge and MP trades talks. Incarcerated needs some new material. Can I make your twitter?
Truth be told, Sarge is going no where, at least not without replacing him with another DD man. Who is our orgs #5 and #6 LD aka defensive depth?
Alzner
Hammer
Erskine
Sarge

Presume its one of McNeill, Wellar, Richmond, Brouillette. I wonder if RD Collins would get the nod. I assume Orlov would get a recall before anyone else, but I'd wager he will probably already be here spelling an injury riddled right side.
Erskine over Sarge says a lot to me. It says Dale Hunter is back in town.
Anson Carter on the NHL On the Fly stated that typically their is a boost for the first 10 games or so as players are proving themselves to the new coach but that after those 10 and players settle in that this would be the most telling to see who is on board with the new program.
I'm glad to see Orlov is getting a shot on the first PP unit tonight. I'm surprised Schultz is getting scratched over Hamrlik though.
With the way Hamrlik has been playing, his contract, and given how old he is, I think we need to Hamrlik to work. I doubt GMGM could pull off any sort of trade where its not solely a salary dump at this point.
Fact is, like him or not, Schultz could still be packaged and sent out for a helpful return. Don't see that happening with 44.
Hey guys just dropping in to say that much to our (blues fans) dismay it looks like Pietrangelo won't be in the lineup because of the flu. Looking forward to seeing how the Caps play in this one
Hey guys good luck tonight, hope for a good clean injury free game. You guys might have a slight advantage, our team has been battling the flu for the last few days and tonight it looks like Pietrangelo might be a scratch due to symptoms.
OV-Backstrom-Brouwer are going to see alot of Steen-Backes-Oshie tonight which means this one might be decided by secondary scoring.
Also little sidenote, I would give just about anything to have Backstrom in the Bluenote. Sadly I know it will never happen but he is just fun to watch when he is on.

If we could get something in return for Schultz I would be very pleased, but unless Hamrlik starts playing a lot better I see him causing problems for us later in the year. I just don't want to see him in the top 6 in the playoffs. Hopefully our backend can stay healthy, specifically Mr. Green
Someone else tried that...where is that guy now? What was his name? I can't seem to recall.
Locking the gate after the horse has run off is irrelevant. A new coach can hit the reset and get far better results. Specially since I think DH can still kick half the teams ass.

Steen will always bring up a funny memory for me. On the old CAPS boards a TML fan claimed that Steen would prove to be a better player than Ovechkin in spite of 0 indicators. Always amusing to see homerisms effect on sanity.

May not be a bad idea. We need Ovey with a wake up call. It might work.

I sure hope so. Some things just seem so obvious to me. Advanced Lemonade Theory 401 is the same as LEMN 101.
What will a coach ask of his defensive... often slower defensemen. How about this one, stay back! Dont let a forward get by you. Hello. Be the defensive specialist we drafted. It almost cost me a Sony Bravia watching the very coachable Alzner religiously following Bruce's commands to step over our blue on forwards in his rookie campaign. The center being frantically waved over by the sliding Dman trying to get into perfect position, 5 guys trying to figure out coverage on the fly, the goalies head spinning. Alzner scrambling back into the mix, but a forward would be in his spot on D; coverage again improvised on the same rush.
I swear I saw just one time a step up led directly to a quick transition goal. One time, in Bruce's tenure, by Sarge. Not for a lack of looking, I assure you.
I expect Dale to keep it simple for everyone early on. Let everyone do what they do best, and then coordinate them all once they are back into their niche, all into one badass attack. C'mon Dale.
