This kind of sucks, Pando Bear was the only one of the new vets that I thought was actually doing his job. He's also been noticeable for the past few games in good ways.

If the Isles are looking for a replacement for Pando for the time being they should definitely take a look at picking Nodl off waivers. He'd fit right in.

I also doubt the Islanders will risk putting Wishart through re-entry. My guess is they keep him down in Bridgeport this year and give him another shot to make the team next year and if he doesn't make it he becomes an expendable AHLer.

from what i saw of him last year nodl is a good pker and a decent 4th liner. Dont expect much scoring from him though...

For all you Pandalfo haters out there..lets see just how good our PK is without him.
The PK isn't all that good with him. They're what like 20th in the league on the PK.

They should start using Kyle out on the PK some more. Maybe it would help him get his butt in gear.

Thats what Im saying. In my oponion Pandolfo is just awful , he brings no scoring,no speed,no energy, no toughness ect. He brings nothing to the table except for being old and slow.
He does nothing someone else on this team could not do! I agree put Kyle on the PK and lets see what he can do.

Does re-entry apply to players on 2-way deals?

you mean the 1 goal that Pandolfo has? LOL

I like Noodle and think he would be a good 4th liner here. I know we need much more than that but why not keep the guys at the Bridge that are doing well there and roll with Noodle?

With Nodl on waivers, we're going to find out if Nino stays or goes. Heres the math:

Cap floor: 48.3M
Current cap hit: 49.45M
Nino's remaining cap hit: approx 2M
Nodl's cap hit: 850K
Net cap after moving Nino and acquiring Nodl: 48.3

We'll find out exactly what the organization thinks of Nino shortly....

I was originally on board with Nino staying, but after what has happened I hope they send him back and he starts next year at Bridgeport. I think that would be ideal for him because it looks like his skating just isn't there yet and god knows what the hell they are doing with him.

This is such a myth. The Devils have a great PK and it's no secret that it plays its best players on it. Pandolfo is a bad hockey player, it won't surprise me if the PK actually improves. I wish the Isles were smarter with their on-ice lineup decisions. Pandolfo, and Mottau should be in Bridgeport. Nino should be in the lineup, and perhaps Wishart the 6th dman. Reasoner, Rolston, and Eaton should be healthy scratches unless they prove they can perform at the NHL level. And Montoya should get the majority of the starts.

The Isles need to start giving their team the best chance to win game in and game out. That means no dead weight and not pretending that Dipietro is an NHL starting goalie.

Yep, this will hopefully shed light on what the team is doing with Nino.

Then again, it could solely mean we'll see Reasoner again.

Kinda doing what I was warning they would? String him along, ruin his confidence and force him to play on a horrific team misrun into the ground?

I wanted him AWAY from this. The "he's done all he could at that level" crowd won again - and yet another corpse is ready for the Isles Hall of Shame? I give him two years. This team just won't learn and the fans are worse. THEY SHOULD KNOW BY NOW.
