As a Hawks fan I would love Gleason on team ,, But I think Canes will give Muller some time to see if he can turn ship around before making any roster shakeups
They were more like the #15/16 PK in the league prior to those two blowouts.
The Hawks don't give up a whole lot of goals on the PK because they are rarely short handed, but their PK% sucks and is sensitive because of the low number of opportunities.
No, they had the #1 PK prior to the first game against Vancouver.
Due to their several blowout losses, their PK numbers and percentage look significantly worse than they actually are.
Not that they're actually #1 good, but on a game-to-game basis, they're not actually #30 bad.
Marquee doesn't necessarily mean good, it just means recognizable. And Kaberle is much more recognizable than Gleason.

In this context it clearly means top-end. They didn't free up $ simply to get a recognizable name. They aren't looking for an after-dinner speaker, they need someone to contribute on the blue line.
Kaberle wouldn't even qualify for an after-dinner speaker but he could be mistaken for gelatin.
Jay-Bo, Kaberle, Visnovsky are the best ideas so far.
Aside from Visnovsky, those are horrible ideas.
Bouwmeester? Why? and for 6.5mil when they just unloaded another overpaid Dman for 7mil.
Kaberle? The same guy they decided to not offer a contract in the offseason? Suddendly they will trade away assets for him + his horrendous contract?

Why? They don't lack a PMD, who is soft. They need a big physical guy who can PK, Campbell doesn't fit either of those descriptions and is overpaid for too many years.

In a heart beat, get's us out of that contract...which I was not a fan of from the beginning, and adds a grizzled vet who is physical and PK's.
I would even add a 3rd rounder too if necessary.
