yes pk tripped him, but neal 100% intended to hit him in the head while falling. good that it was penalized by the league.

This is stupid. And now everyone's going to use this to justify the call against Pacioretty.

"Yeah well Neal got fined for 2500 bucks so Pacioretty's incident cancels out"

agrees, it is plain dumb. And if in reality they did....I'm sure we can find 2500 Habs fans to send 1$ each to the league to buy the 3 games back for Patches to play in

You want to send a message? make it 25 000$ for the player and 25 000$ for the team. Send the money to charity. What a joke.
it hurts to have a parking ticket

and Neal pays more taxes/escrow than a guy who makes 50 000 in percentage

But for the fine, its a good call. Yes Subban slewfoot Neal, but Neal slashed his stick on Subban

Slash stick to the head is more dangerous than a slew foot

PK tripped him, Neal high sticked him. Both plays seemed deliberate. If anything, Subban should've been the one getting a 2 minutes, but that's that. Doesn't change anything about the joke of a suspension on MaxPac or the ridiculous OT goal.

Don't be so naive guys, Neal chopped him across the face like an axe. He knew what he was doing and thought he would get away with it.

that was not a slew foot!!!!

maybe you could call a trip on that play but thats it....he was clearly going for the puck

i dont know how many times ive seen PK try to kick the puck with the outer part of his skate along the boards...as his foot came up it made contact...thats it

that is not the NHL's definition of a slew foot

This, it was so blatant, Neal deserves the fine but the timing is so stupid, and the NHL never fines for these things. Shanny is only doing it to try and soften the Patches suspension which is stupid as well, if Malone got nothing, Max should have got nothing, end of story.

I lost respect totally towards Shanahan.

We're back with Campbell's "quality" discipline management.

NHL= bush league

PK definitely tripped him, but I wouldn't call that a full slew foot.

No doubt, I watch hockey for enjoyment, I have been more frustrated the last 3 years than I ever have with hockey and that includes the lean late 90's, early 2000's. It's all about consistency and we NEVER get it.

Subban barley touched Neals foot it was Subban's punch to the back of Neals back that was the main pressure. Then Subban's foot just helped him fall.

If Subban ever got fined for this particular play i think we (Hab Fans) would all lose it.

I totally agree 100% that this was Sheriff Shanny's cover for the bad 3 game suspension on Patches, that should of been 1 or 2.

I think it's really hard to actually prove Neal brought his stick down intentionally to hit Subban, hence the fine and no suspension.

Go look at the replay. He was kicking at the puck.

That's also hard to prove. It's easy to trip someone up and make it look like your kicking at the puck.

You could also make a case to say Subban was "kicking" Neal's foot. I'm not claiming it was deliberate because no one else but Subban knows that, but knowing Subban, he might've very well done it on purpose. We all love him, but we have to be honest and admit he's not exactly a Lady Bing kind of guy.

But that's irrelevant to my point : regardless of whether it was intentional or not, that should've been a penality, because tripping/high sticking/hooking are penalized even if they're not deliberate.

How do they catch that?

A lot of you watched the game and are saying that you didn't even realize Neal had high sticked Subban. I didn't watch the game but I have not heard about this until the fine.

Why does the NHL see it then? Did Montreal complain? Did someone call 911?

Look at the position of the puck in the replay.
And i agree with you for the fact he is not going to win the LB.

Good because I don't want him to be.. We have a team full of that type as is now..

Maybe the NHL reviews all games later and thought the highstick was a little excessive on Neal's part..

Looked like Subban was kicking for the puck and Eller's stick was also hacking at Neal's foot.

Bit it's hard to see because Letang's hair gets in the way.

Could've been dangerous series of events there but rather nothing than a 2500 fine. It just seems stupid.

I've noticed this trend in a few posts from habs fans. Do you as a fanbase honestly believe the NHL cares how the habs fans feel enough to take ANY action?
