Good: Gaby and Richards
Bad: The Refs until the 3rd period
Redden: Atrie. Didnt clear the puck and missed some good chances.

Look, I only saw the last 10 minutes of the game... but isn't it possible that the Rangers were a little sloppy on the puck because the Penguins were playing like what they are: a great team? Great team's force those kinds of things.

This is a huge win against an elite team with their full roster that obviously came in here gunning for us. Crosby wanted this one bad. Denied!

I'm starting to get that "special" feeling...

wow. we could be onto something.

Hagelin

There were negatives but alot has to go positive to beat this team. The major positive is the stars of this team; Callahan, Richie, Gaby; absolutely shined.

MDZ and AA were the worst players on the ice tonight. i think the shot blocked by danny in the first may have affected him a little bit. im suprised fedotenko came right back for the next shift which i really dont think the rangers training staff should have allowed him to do regardless how he felt. he took one nasty hit i really dont know how he doesn't have a concussion from it. my 3 stars were gaborik, richards, and callahan and people are not lying when they say bettman favors the pens. no doubt about that in my mind after tonight. anyway 3 in a row after 2 losses which came after a 7 game winning streak is the exact type of consistency you wanna see, so lets keep this going. next stop carolina! new coach so they will be pumped up so i hope the rangers wake up for that game bc we all know how playin our divisional rivals then playing a SE opponent such as carolina. they take them lightly and we get shelled. this team should be motivated as we will need to be.

AA had a kind of messy game. But that line was good. Esp Gabby
Cally - Richards - Feds also very good. Richards winning key faceoffs.Abysmal 5-3 PP though...
3rd line BIG surprise. Again. Hagelin, DAMN!!! I told you guys when he was drafted he was a gem. My brother coached the guy through junior hockey in Sweden and he said he had great potential if he worked on his shot. Looks like it... They almost got caught in the 3rd gassed on an icing - but somehow survived it...
I really like the 4th line. They must be HELL to play against. Avery had a good game, this rivalry will get brutal before the season is over. GOOD

McD - mostly good but one goal is a bit on him. Girardi had an off night.
Sauer very stable. MDZ almost had a terrible giveaway but did many good things. Too slow & indecisive on PP though...
Eminger was our best defender imo. Great game. Woywitka makes ya cringe - but he somehow pulled through
Hank made some great saves under huge pressure but had a couple of bad rebounds. And the 3rd goal????
Anyway - great win. And good coaching job by Tortorella actually. Credit where credit is due

They were missing Letang and Michalek. I get your point though.

If I were not a mod a certain thread regarding the level of the Ranger's team might be making another appearance.

Next up for the Rangers is a road trip south at Carolina on Thursday and Stevey Stamkos at the Lightning on Saturday. Then a short break before the schedule gets nasty.

It's never going to be smooth sailing against a team like the pens. The positive is we worked hard enough to win this game. The negative was we got pinned in a bit too much at times. It's to be expected though. Good game all in all.

Nice win but I'm sorry you absolutely can't, I mean can't, be up by one goal with 10 minutes to go, get two 5 on 3 opportunities, plus another full PP and not even make the goalie make a save.

No excuse for the 5 on 3 futility but I thought they registered a few on the 5 on 4.

We are all wondering the same. The comments about the strength of his defensive game go only so far, I think we can all agree. That's just trumping something up in an attempt to make us forget the elephant in the room.
