Not really, when guys first get called up they have no choice...hence why cally went from 43 to 24, and Duby was in the 60s when he first started as well.

well Girardi was 46, Anisimov was 55 when first called up in the past

Yeaaah, I dunno about Newbury. Never been impressed when I've seen him with the big club. I think he's more of a classic AAAA player.
I meant more as far as if there was an injury, Newbury could hold down the fort for 4-5 games as a 4th liner.

This is why I've been singing his praises from day one. He works hard and definitely has "it."

And Johnny Mitchell has been great as well. I wanted him as the spare out of camp.

Hagelin and Mitchell have some good chemistry. It's good to call up guys from the AHL and see that they already have some familiarity with each other, it makes the adjustment a lot easier.

The Rangers are going to have some tough decisions to make when Wolski and Rupp come back. EC and Deveaux will be as good as gone. I'll be shocked if Wolski's still on this roster after the trade deadline.

Hagelin has swagger. He reminds me of Tyler Ennis a bit. Similar mullets too. LOVE IT. Mitchell is the man, too.

I would imagine Deveaux is officially sent down tomorrow. They likely keep EC as the spare just because he has a NHL deal then yea tough decisions if these guys keep going. Rupp will be back for sure but I could see Wolski for a expensive FA Dman. Maybe Bryan Allen?

Hagelin has made such an impact. He's just noticeable almost every shift.

Johnny Malkin has really made me eat crow, too.

Wolski's value isnt that great. id rather the rangers keep him and resign him. he is only 25. he will be an RFA. keep him for the playoffs and try to deal him at the draft if they want. id rather deal Zuccarello. i mean if Hollweg can get a 5th round pick then Wolski should be able to get the Rangers a 2ed round pick...

The most impressive thing about hagelin is his high hockey iq at this level in only his 3rd game....i know its 3 games but you can see his speed is elite and he made so many good plays on the boards and behind the net against tops teams in the east.....this kid is here to stay

Wolski will be an RFA, the others UFA. and i bet its Kubina out of those especially with his connection to Torts....Kubina is a solid dman with some size and grit.

Kubina's still good, and Tampa needs to improve their D..no way they trade him for Wolski.

If you guys want to discuss trades, please do so in the appropriate thread. This isn't the place for it.

What a breath of fresh air these two have been.

Hagelin in particular has already surpassed my expectations. His speed is just lethal and he is really stepping up against big opponents. Just a joy to watch, very reminiscent of Cally when he was first called up.

yea u are likely right. I'm not throwing to much thought into those names I am more throwing out guys I know are UFA overpaid Dmen.

Canes have been sucking so Allen is actually the guy I think could be involved

I would do Wolski, Stralman for Allen, late pick. Would leave when everyones healthy....Staal, Girardi, McDonaugh , Sauer, Del Zotto, Allen ,Eminger

I give credit to Woywitka, he hasnt really hurt the team and that's all I could ask but he has a two way deal so the obvious choice to go down
