NHL games versus players in mid season form is better than pre-season games versus AHLers.

If three games to see where he stands against NHLers causes him to bust like you seem to believe, he isnt much of a prospect to begin with.

Also, dont even know if he played pre-season. Think he was injured.

but its three games!!!! its not like he is missing any developmental time. If he plays 8 minutes a nite and getting to see the NHL experience for 3 games, its only going to give him a better idea what he needs to work on. Its not like the have him sitting on the bench missing top line minutes in Hamilton for any extended period of time. Its 3 games. Heck i dont even know if he will miss more than 1 or 2 of Hamiltons games.

If he stays the whole 3 games, he'll most likely miss 2 games.

Any chance he is being showcased for potential trade? I know Bobby Ryan, Jarome Iginla etc have been mentioned as players who are possibly available.

I remember how Plek was seen as a career third-liner. Until Julien put him on the first two lines and he exploded.

I have a feeling the kid will be electified to play for his childhood team and will give a pulse to this team. Of course Martin has a knack for instinguishing fires(aka PK).

If we could get Bobby Ryan by trading Leblanc +, I would hope that management does it. Ryan is a superstar in the making. Leblanc looks like another Plekanec.

Lol I'd trade Leblanc for Iginla or Ryan.

Who the **** thinks Leblanc will be anything more than a decent 2nd liner?

IMHO he will look a lot better than Palushaj, that's for sure. For a player that we expect to play on a 3rd or 4th line for now, his ability to make plays (passing or shooting) at high speed and getting those pucks in the corners will greatly benefit him. All of the above happens to be Palushaj's biggest flaws, who's fast but can't seem to create anything when opposing players are close. I would not be surprised if Leblanc steals his spot for the 13th forward until Gomez comes back.

Why are people talking about trading Leblanc, where did this even come from?

They lost a top 6 forward that they know will be back after 3 games. All 3 games are way out west away from Montreal. Seems like a perfect chance to get Leblanc a taste of the NHL.

For Ryan I would trade anyone but Price and PK. I would even trade Pacioretty (whom I love) because Ryan is an elite player.

Iginla, on the other hand, I would give less, but I would still give up things. He's a real star.

fan 1:"hey the habs called up Leblanc because Pacioretty got suspended for the games"
fan 2: "stupid ****ing canadiens are gonna ruin his development by playing on the 4th line"
fan 3 "leblanc sucks"
fan 1 "have you seen him play?"
fan 3 "no, but he sucks."

This is pretty much what I have encountered from other people since his call up.

To folks who think a brief call-up with limited ice time on the 4th line will hurt LL's development: Gauthier/Martin aren't the first to do this. It's a "cup of coffee," teams have been giving them to prospects since the minor leagues were invented. It's a tried and true development tool. Give the prospect a taste of what he is chasing, and make him a bit more aware of what he needs to do to get there.

That's how I Feel. I think Iggy would play a bigger role and importance to the team than Ryan, but he's also 34 while Ryan is 24. I dont want to give so much for 3-4 years of hockey while Ryan can give you 10 years more, possibly.

Iginla will retire in Calgary.
