Spezza's shot was filthy, no one would've saved that and Karlsson is a tremendous talent. I hope you can get it all together and compete for a spot. Good to see Filatov only get a broken nose from Fehr's skate, could've been so much worse.

Good luck the rest of the way.
Thanks for that. Our players did seem to be absorbing a lot of punishment tonight.

The Jets played really well and I was going to give them kudos on their board but it seems like Sens fans are not too welcome there at the moment.

I've been saying all along, if the Sens beat the teams they are supposed to beat(Winnipeg, Carolina, C-Bus etc.) that they in all likelyhood would make the playoffs. Not really that far-fetched when you think about it.

Just got back from the game. Fun to watch as we had great seats and there was plenty to cheer about. Some random things I noticed...with the injuries the D pairings got mixed up a lot...was fantastic to see Cowen and Rundblad playing together...cowen and Karlsson had a few shifts together as well...and they looked fine. Karlsson is a beast and so full of confidence in his abilities...he makes some poor choices in his own end though and needs to keep it simple when pressured behind the net... but given space he dominates games all on his own and his stretch pass was incredible. He and Spezza see the ice like few others do.

The officiating was awful on both sides but it is what it is.

I was hoping to see more of Filatov so hopefully his injury won't keep him out too long.

Anyway it was the first NHL game I've been too since the original Jets left so it was pretty special.

I was mainly referring to the goal Pavelec had covered up that the ref didn't blow the whistle on. We all looked at every angle possible and it was nowhere to be seen, a tad unfair imo.

But again, it was a well contested game throughout so I look forward to when our teams do it again.

I missed the Carolina game so thankfully I was able to watch this one entirely. I was swearing at my TV throughout this game (very entertaining at the same time)

I think I'm starting to dislike the Jets and their fanbase...at least those that were in attendance.

Very entertaining game.

Hopefully the injuries to Filatov and Kuba aren't too bad.

Teams are substantially underestimating us. I'll be disappointed when we sneak into the playoffs and everyone starts bringing their A-game against us.

I think the jets fans are going to be a bit hypersensitive this first season. They really really really want to win this year.

I was more referring to the fact that I argued all last year and summer about Ottawa's fortunes this year. I had said that we'd most likely be somewhere between 11th and 8th this year and that we would be in the mix for the 8th spot in the East. Apparently that made me an idiot because we're in the middle of a huge rebuild and have no talent.

I've been predicting since the beginning of the year that we hover around the final playoff spot until Spezza goes down for his customary 10-20 games and we plummet to the bottom of the standings.

I'm sure a video will surface soon, but Pavs didn't have the puck at all. The dman next to him was coraling it as video replay showed and then poking and proding brought it out in front of the net. Not sure how the ref new Pavlec didn't ahve it though. Surprised he didn't whistle but it was indeed the right call on his part.
