I think he's got a good chance to make it, would love if he did so I could actually watch him play for once.

Edit; Guess I'm not the only one who noticed.

Visentin is overrated. Get the spot Wedge, we all want to see you succeed.

I hope he wins the spot. I also hope Merrill isn't kept off the US team because of his suspension.

I'm not sold on Wedgewood's positioning in nets. I don't like goaltenders that crouched in the net, he plays smallish from everything I seen. I hope he makes the team however.

I really hope Wedge makes it but for some reason I think he will get screwed over.

I don't see how Merrill can make the team. He hasn't played hockey at all this season. I hope Boucher gets a look though.

He'll get his chance to be on the team. He was voted Team USA's best defenseman last time he played.

I don't get the hype with Visentin either. Yes, he is a returning player, but I don't really think that gives him much of an edge. It's not like he exactly lit the tourney up last year. The goaltending battle should be pretty wide open IMO.

Visentin when on his game is an amazing goaltender. But he can also collapse very easily and become shaky.

Wedgewood has to play well in camp. He didn't in the summer. Never really plays well when it's not all on the line (playoffs/stretch run)

Visentin is dead to me. He's more dead to me than Cory Hirsch.

This Merill thing is really annoying me. He hasn't played all season. Im just going to have to put this out there. Sorry but I see him as a bust from this point forward.

The '94 Olympics were the last before NHL pros were allowed in. In some respects, the Canadian team resembled a WJC team with a lot of recent draftees. At first glance, 1991-1993 didn't appear to produce many high caliber goalies regardless of nationality.

In a strange way, I'm not completely bothered by it. Most of the scouting reports before the 2010 Draft seemed to peg Merrill as being talented but a mental wild card. It might be a step back for the time being, but if he can do some growing up that could be best for our long term interests.

It was a different situation, but I remember Danny Briere admitting that he coasted through his first few years in Phoenix. Then he got waived and nobody put in a claim. That was a big wakeup call for him and he started working hard thereafter.

Merrill was probably going to need at least a full AHL season anyways, so there'll be time to catch up with his on ice development.

I wouldn't write off Merrill as a bust yet. He's behind on his development now, but this is good for his character.

I wouldn't even say he's behind on his development. He honestly could have left school after last season.

Really sucks that he has to sit out, but I'm more worried about how Lou and Co. view him after this whole thing than I am about his talent/development.

Character development through pouting as he goes on to work at Walmart. Plymouth was an awful decision...

Extremely. That was a cheeky move for Forsberg to pull of in a Gold Medal Game. Then ****ing Paul Kariya missing on the shootout attempt right after to give the Swedes the win and Foppa a stupid stamp.

I've hated the shootout since 94.

What a **** year, Canada loses to Sweden for the Gold and ****ing Matteau breaks my heart all over again shortly thereafter. Damn, I'm going to go cry.
