how in the world can you play in the AHL before your draft eligible?

Also, why is Condra trying to dangle so much? new found confidence? stamina? whats going on haha

It's really going to effect the other team's game plan when they have to change defending styles from a fast pace to a slow pace in 1 shift.
And if they really wanna **** with you they'll toss em both out there, especially on 4 on 4 situations.

We took Smith after he got passed over in the draft twice. I remember Tim Murray said he dominated two straight playoff rounds on his own and they felt strong enough to take a player twice passed over in the 3rd round. Before we took him he played for Manitoba in the AHL playoffs as a player just turning 20. He was two years older than Karlsson (and an April birthdate).

The guy did a lot of work to be able to skate in the NHL.

I don't ever remember feeling the kind of confidence in Clouston that I have in Stache.

I also don't remember a lot Clouston decision's directly resulting in a lot 'W's. Paulrus has already won games on 'hunches'

Stache's strength is that he rewards good play during the game regardless of paycheck and the guys are responding to the recognition.

I thought it was weird that Rundblad played the left side on the powerplay with Karlsson on the right. Karlsson definitely has the better slap shot.

They cross a lot, they both have the ability to do things at either side. Someday they are going to blow us away on the PP together.

After he shut me up last game putting Konopka on the powerplay, he did the same thing today with Smitty's line.

It's awesome to have a players coach after Clouston

I see some of you posting here and in the Winnipeg GDT that they dominated us all game.

I'm not sure what game you were watching but the game I saw had us trading chances all game. Andy played great, but they hardly dominated us... . The better team won tonight.

As for Smith's goal, if you watched the feed I had you could clearly see from overhead that Pav did not control the puck. Hence no reason to blow the play dead.

Why anyone would feel the need to go over to another team's GDT/PGT and try to appease them with agreements on their "dominant play" and bull***t goals is embarrassing for sens fans everywhere.

I agree with most of the content of this post except this is a bit over the line. No need to get nasty. I've found that one of the worst traits that a lot of Sens fans seem to have is their respect for fellow Sens fans.

With that said I agree with the rest. They didn't dominate us the whole game they spent some time looking very dominant which skewed the overall impression of the game.

This is so true...If some random Sens fan is maybe abit over the line or a little wrong in their assesment when arguing with another fan base, there's no need to throw them under the bus. We have to stick together, there isn't many of us out there.

Zach Smith on being asked to play on the powerplay:

Quote:
"I had to do a double-take there," he said, grinning. "That was only my second or third shift [on the power play] this season. But I guess he wanted to change things up."

I don't remember the Senators having a coach that actually listened to them and who they didn't want to stuff into a closet.

It's funny because MacLean said that he had to say Smitty's name 3 times before he actually got off the bench.

If Regin and Filatov are injured :

Michalek - Spezza - Butler
Foligno - Smith - Alfie
Greening - Winchester - Condra
Daugavins - Konopka - Neil

Healthy line-up :

Michalek - Spezza - Butler
Filatov - Regin - Alfie
Foligno - Smith - Neil
Greening - Winchester - Condra
Konopka

* Daugavins back to Bingo, only forward that we can send back with Filatov. However, I'm not really sure it will happen since there's always injuries.

If Filatov and Regin click and start producing, that's a solid line-up

And I've been repeating how many times that we didn't need that kind of rebuild. For 2 main reasons : we draft like thieves, we had many good pieces in place already. Oh ya, and our main weaknesses that forced us to rebuild was poor coaching and goaltending, if we fix that, we're good. Looks like we are in the good direction in that aspect as well.

The most dangerous D-man in the NHL right now. I'm sure every NHL team has noticed. Karlsson is like the "Golden Snitch" in Harry Potter, only Harry can catch it. Who,s Harry in the NHL?

We should follow the example of the Sens
