I just signed the petition, I also posted a link for it on Croatian hockey fans forum urging other Croatian Avs fans (there's a decent number of them because of Joe Sakic) to do the same.

There's a lot of displeased Avs fans right now. I doubt management gives a flying fudgenut-shenanigans, but at least we're voicing our displeasure.

Signed. I also went off on the avs facebook page (can you believe they posted we lost "despite" porter's 1 goal? )

Quote:
Leon's post above is absolutely spot on. We've acquired great core pieces at every position. Duchene, Staz, O'reilly down the middle, Landeskog on the wing, EJ on D, Varly in net. But we're not putting them in the best situation to succeed and develop. There's no point in having guys with a lot of potential if it's going to be squandered. There's not enough veteran leadership on the team to bring these young guys along, and seriously, what's going on with the goalie coaching situation? On top of that with each subsequent loss it feels like we're moving further and further into building a culture of losing while management just sits on its hands. Ask the Islanders how easy it is to create a winning culture when the players and fans have come to accept losing.

Furthermore, I have to echo everyone else's sentiments and question how exactly Joe Sacco and his staff are still possession of their jobs. Sacco's hiring was bizarre to begin with considering his total lack of experience and his losing record at the AHL level, but now to hold on to him through all that's happened? Previous Avs coaches have been fired for much less that what we've seen lately. The last time we won back to back regulation games was 74 GAMES AGO. As of November 17th, the Avs record under Sacco was 12-39 for the previous 51 games, 8 of those wins coming in the shootout. Meaning that the Avs had won only FOUR of those 51 games in regulation. And then consider the record length losing streak last year , followed by continued incompetence this year. Has there ever been an NHL team with an easier and more predictable zone breakout to defend against? What about the zone entry on the PP, do we seriously want to see Milan Hejduk and Matt Duchene dumping the puck in on the man advantage and trying to grind it out in the corners? It's just surreal at this point. I've been a diehard fan of this organization since the Nordique days but if things continue the way they are I'm going to have a hard time continuing to watch the games and spend hard earned money on this team.
The more I think about it, the more their stubbornness in keeping Sacco and his band of retarded assistants has to be money related.

They most likely won't care but if the fans make enough noise who knows. Next step would be letting the displeasure be heard at the pepsi center.

Management will figure that there are 50,000 Avs fans out there. If 200 are complaining, that's only .4% ---- the other 99.6% are satisfied with the effort on the ice.

Yea, this is pretty much my thinking as well, but I feel better going about actually providing facts as to why Sacco should be let go. It at least makes me feel like I'm voicing my displeasure. I'm sure managment couldn't give two craps about what we fans think.

If we, as fans, really wanted to make a statement, we'd just unoccupy Pepsi Center. I'm sure management would start listening if only 100 fans showed up to the building, and they were all chanting "Fire Sacco"

Not worth it to sign something like this. The only point would be to let Colorado Avalanche management know how unhappy the fans are, but I'm sure they know. And since when have they ever cared what the fans want, anyway?

Signed it, sent it to a buddy on facebook who's an Avs fan, and posted a topic on the main boards.

Nice guys, over 100 signatures in one day! I've submitted to Kroenke guest relations and asked that they pass it along to someone who can address our frustrations. I'm sure it will get answered by a customer service representative, but it's worth a shot. Even still, I've passed it along to some heavy hitters on twitter to see if they can help gather steam.

Well if this works we should also try: Petition for New Management Structure (oust Lacroix) and Petition to Sell The Team to Someone Who Gives a Crap.

I bet you, SOMEONE within the Avs FO will get word of this.

I don't think it's any secret to the Avs that the fans are upset with how the team is playing. And with each loss, the fans voices get louder and louder. Look at what happened in Denver with the Broncos. Similar situation, except the fans wanted a certain starting QB to start over another one. Once the change was made.... success.

Done and done.

And whats with asking me to sign more petitions after it? Air pollution? Teachers and children? Pssshhhh ..... Who has time to worry about these trivial matters when the Avs need a new head Coach?

You guys should do this on the White House petition website. Can you imagine what would happen if it got enough signatures for an official response?

Haha that'd be great, but it's 25,000 sigs in 30 days. We could probably pull it off, but we'd have to be very organized and motivated.

That said if anyone can get ahold of the Avalanche listserv, let me know and we'll try it.
