Not any longer. He's training with Jagr now. He is much too valuable to risk ruining his hands in a stupid fight.

Me personally, I hope he's still at 0 fights at the end of the season...

Oh, sorry, he usually goes by Superstar.

Forgot his real name for a second.

Skill players don't fight.

I don't know why Superstar JFS having zero of them this year is shocking.

You guys are way off base. I remember him losing at least one fight covered in blood this pre-season

All jokes aside, he has been a scratch so much that he isn't "fight ready" no has he been in a situation to do so, aside from the game against the rangers there has really been little need.

Fight ready? Lets be serious, it doesnt take 10 games to get "in the groove" or establish "chemistry" like it does for scoring players.

You dress, you drop your gloves. That is all. There is no amount of time to "get ready" fighting is mental and physical, you either win or you lose, but by not fighting he certainly isnt improving his "fight readiness" by any means.

Fight ready? Really? This isn't boxing or MMA.

Completely agreed. I've heard that Shelley is a great locker room guy, and that is why he is still on the team. Homer isn't blind. He knows Shelley isn't a skilled player. But he probably has a better idea of Shelley's off-ice benefits than we do.

Flyers can hire a dollar store ho for much less and it would do wonders for the locker room. Happy ending for all...

When we go in one of our dives I can't wait to hear what he is doing OFF-ICE to get us out of the funk....

This whole he is invaluable in the locker room seems overstated IMO. I never really hear it mentioned from the players. I've heard more accolades about Talbot being a character guy in the locker room and Jagr and they at least contribute on the ice!

Homer wants Shelley to play out his contract and then hire him as the new Phantoms assistant while promoting Riley Cote to head coach. Isn't it obvious?

It's obviously stupid...

On that note thought Greenberg made an interesting juxstaposition...

Jody Shelly obviously doesn't provide the full 20% of what you say....and we know he provides ZILCH as far as what he does...

So once again why are we paying a million plus and taking a roster spot? If it's to line him up for coaching duty you don't have to pay him to stick around like a dingleberry. We dumped Cote...plus I'd prefer Lappy and Hatch and heck looks like Pronger will have to retire before too long...

Quote:
We’ve rather [Pronger] in there because that’s why we named him the captain originally,” said Laviolette. “Now that he’s not, there’s no lack of leadership in this [dressing] room.

“Kimmo’s been a captain. Danny Briere’s been a captain. Jaromir has been a terrific example and terrific leader. Max Talbot, Jody Shelley, Matty Carle … we’ve got experienced guys that can help out.

Leadership is about 20 percent what you say and 80 percent what you can do. While those Flyers were utterly lost without Howe, these Flyers are just that much more mistake prone without Pronger.

I'm extremely interested to see how a healthy scratch can contribute so much leadership. Show me the money (in quarters), 24/7!
