Exchanging one goal-scorer for another is a crapshoot, plus we'll be banging our heads on the table when Cammy performs his annual playoff magic for another team.

Dunno Ryan's contract situation, but would you give Cammalleri + Eller + ? for an older, more highly paid, and closer to be UFA Paccioretty?

Absolutely and Ryan just signed a deal so he comes signed

Yup, what's good with Ryan is the player, the goals and the contract.

Eller

2nd

and that probably wouldnt be enough.
The ducks can dream no one will trade a patches and subban for ryan.

A big, young, physical, stay at home D with a pedigree is only really available in the draft, and it would be tough to get one again. I'd trade Leblanc+Cammy instead, and a draft pick as well if need be.
Yeah that could be a good deal but I think they want an incentive with a 1st and this could be a 3 way deal if they really can't afford cammy.

We have dehairnais he isn't elite but he is a decent young centre.

They probably want players that can help them now you are right. Some people are saying they need a centre. Well we probably have dehairnais that will help right away is cheap and can produce.

I think gauthier can pull a trade off if he plays his cards right. We have assets it just depends on if the ducks GM believes those assets are good enough. We don't need to listen to duck fans saying dehairnais is worth nothing. He is extremely cheap for this year and the next and can produce points.

The problem with this team is not that we have no one to score, it's that we have very few people who can make a nice pass. Bobby Ryan would be great, but you trade eller for him and what is your center depth?

I don't understand how people think that the habs can't pull this off. They can . People get confused between the ability to do it, and the will to do it. If we don't land him, it will mean that we ''havent offered enough'' ... but I tend to believe that our organization has confidence in its decisions, and will go for it or stand back based on their true opinion. Maybe the missed Hossa trade will play in our favor, and that the higgins this year .... (im thinking desharnais. I like him, but ... and he's our current player that represent's best higgins' value back then imo) will be sacrificed.

and right now, the price to pay for ryan will be high, and can anyone here look me in the eye and say that patches won't play in the same ball park in a year or two ? ~ 30 goals a year ?

if ryan was red hot, I'd think less about it... and to me, that's another issue ... what the hell is wrong with him.

he's no crosby or ovy ... nothing you should ruin your franchise for.

No chance we get him.

He will go to an aggressive team like the Rangers, Flyers or Bruins.

I have no issue trading Cammy and Weber, my issue is trading Tinordi and a 1st...we can't part with that right now, prospect depth is thin as it is, look at the farm.

some of you guys are thick

they are looking to shed salary, so that means no cammy. by the way, half a dozen other teams can outbid us easily. it's not about being aggressive, it's about being smart with the assets you got. you don't give away the farm and make yourself weak in another position just to upgrade in another

if im anaheim, there's not a lot i find interesting in our roster, pacioretty yes, eller yes but still can't find the back of the net... DD i like but they'll see that he's too small - by the way, him centering getzlaf and perry would be hilarious. after that? ... ...

and there is such a thing as contract limit. funny as hell to see leafs fans package as many players as possible on the main board, like 6-7 guys with only ryan coming back

From someone who is closely watching this and asking allot of questions, I can tell you it would take something like PK Subban and AKost to get Bobby Ryan.

I wouldn't be amazed to see CBJ swap Nash for Ryan

Wow, that's alot. Ryan is a good young player I wouldn't mind having, but MaxPac isn't too far behind him really.

We don't have enough of either.

I would love to have Ryan though... even if he's 'just' a 30 goal scorer he's got some size and it would be nice to all of a sudden start being considered a 'bigger' team with him and Cole and Max. He's young and he's got some good talent. That's why I don't know why the Ducks would want to move him...

all I can say is.. glad OP isn't our GM.. giving half the team away for one 30 goal scorer is stupid.
