Apparently to be a fan of the flyers sweater, I am now a fan of Kings, Penguins, Blue Jackets, and Ducks players!

And being a fan of the flyers players from this past year, I'm now a partial fan of CBJ, Buffalo, Kings, Blackhawks, Panthers, etc...

And we're not even done yet...this is craziness!

after finally looking at the roster....

im just not into it to be honest. not sure if its me getting older or the fact I am not fond of the direction the went. In the end all that matters is they will have to earn my money this year.

I hate Max Talbot as much as the next person but good riddance to those 73 people that said no.

this is a disgraceful thread. it's about the crest on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back.

I just realized you can see who voted for each option and I get the distinct feeling that some of them weren't Flyers fans even before the trades.

for example:
bruyns (bruins?)
crosby is the sauce
flames4cup2012
Flamesjustwin
Killer Sharkz (san jose?)
KitchenerRangersfan
leeaf83 (toronto?)
MalkinX
MSG the place to be
njdevils3034
njdevilsjds
NyIsles19
oilers4life5
PanthersAllDay1225

I'm not trying to hijack this thread again, I just wanted to let you guys know that I have been keeping close tabs on the Flyers and have posted a few times in the Flyers board. I am not trying to start trouble, but this board is easily better than the Kings board in every aspect, but that could be because I was a Flyers board lurker for 5 years until I finally became a member.

Anyways, I have watched/listened at least 2 periods in every Flyers and Kings game combined and re-watched almost all of the periods I missed on DVR after. It is really nice having a vested emotional interested in both the 4:00PM and 7:30PM games. I still get the same pleasure from watching the Flyers when I get home from my beast commute, plus I get an added bonus of watching my hometown team play solid hockey with some of my family, neighbors and friends. I was going to watch the games anyways, why not raise my levels of excitement for the Kings when they kill off a 5on3 just like I do when the Flyers do the same.

Watching Richie in a Kings uniform is still a bit odd 20 games in, but he has been a treat to watch in every zone this year at ES, PK and PP. He is still the special player all of us grew to admire (on the ice), as he seems to be as close to 100% healthy as he has been in years.

Oddly enough, since I seem to focus more on Richie on the ice more than other Kings players as I am still getting used to seeing #28 on Stoll instead of Giroux, I notice that he isn't the best skater I've ever seen, but somehow finds a way to get to the puck first.

In all seriousness, I feel that both teams' got what they were searching for in the deal, the Kings got a legit Top 15 Center to divert attention from Kopitar and the Flyers re-established their identity in addition to getting solid pieces for the future.

There is only one true answer if you are a REAL FLYERS FAN. I to clicked to see who voted which way and I agree with your assessment.

Interesting thread bump... not sure why though.

Nothing has changed in my mind. I watch the Flyers, but my emotional attachment to the team is not there. I'm hoping it comes back soon, but the more I see Homer **** up, the harder it gets.

I actually feel the exact same way. Flyers fan since I was born, and I've seen plenty of favorites traded and let go, but for some reason, this summer really, really burned me. I watch every minute of every game, but the emotional investment isn't there. As has been discussed here for threads and threads, I actually don't hold this against Holmgren as much as I do Snider, which makes it even worse....since he is the Flyers.

I used to plan my winter around Flyer games but this season, half the time I don't know they're on until gameday. They've just done too many stupid things so I don't feel much attachment to them. I'm hoping Homer gets fired but I doubt it happens and I think till that day comes, the team is going to be in a mess. I still watch a lot of hockey, but I watch a lot of different teams now. It really pisses me off that I feel this way but as the old saying goes, it is what it is.

Been a fan since Day 1 in 1967.......Was 16 years old for the first cup win etc.....Its been, and will continue to be a great ride following this club.....Whats not to like about the Flyer's as a franchise ?They continue to be a very competitive team, and when you look at the big picture, what more can you really expect ?..........Go Flyers !
