I had mine done June 2 and was playing tennis 6 weeks later (I'm 44). Still, to be able to skate @ an elite level and get back into game shape, I'm thinking 6 weeks minimum for a guy like Rupp. We'll see. Really depends on the tear, as well.

6 weeks is not horrific. It will be nice when he comes back 100 percent

As you should. He wasn't the player he can be in the few games he played with us. He was a great, great piece of the Pens roster the last two years.

I always appreciate the role that a guy like Rupp plays, but...I definately have some fears about his return. Tough injury to rebound from when you main role is go out there and throw the body and play physical.

I think they need to take time with him and make sure he is ready to play like he needs to be effective on this team.

Good. He's a nice piece for the bottom six. Hope he's back soon.

I'm a big Rupp suporter and love seeing him in the lineup, but who sits when he gets back? Mitchell I presume? Also, I hope Wolski never gets to play again.

Yeah I'd guess Mitchell is the odd man out.

I don't know if it's a given he jumps right in after he gets back. If it still ain't broke by then why screw with it? It'll probably be a game by game/opponent by opponent decision.

If Mitchell outplays Rupp, I expect Mitchell to play and not let some political decision or the size of the envelope decide. The chemistry between Mitchell and Hagelin is a definitely a factor and that Boyle seems to be instantly clicking with them, is as well.

Putting guys like Rupp and Wolski back into the lineup is not easy when the team is playing so well.

Oh I agree. I was talking in terms of who would actually play though. I think Rupp plays with Mitchell as the spare. Christensen waived.

EC is done, send him back to Anaheim with Dubinsky for Ryan.

Rupp will be solid as a bottom sixer. IMO he compliments Avery and Prust rather than replacing one. I wish one could play center on the 4th line.

Logically, it should be EC who sits. Not good enough for a top 6 role, at least not on a competitive team and he brings nothing in a bottom 6 role. Sure, he's a center, but he's a useless center, at least for us.

Tortorella hates Sean Avery. That's fact. Tortorella is not one to not let his emotions tell his gut what not to tell him.

Who needs to sit when Rupp comes back is Dubinski. That's today. I hope Dubi will turn it around before that time. He is past the bottom, IMO.

Sorry, was never truly crazy about this signing. Nothing he brings that we don't already have in both Prust and Avery ten fold! Besides, this team looks fantastic right now, not sure too many teams can compete with us with what we have in our current line up, only addition I want now is having Staal back...... and maybe Parise for cheap!...lol

Torts is not going to take Hagelin out of the lineup for Rupp. They are two different players. Mitchell would be the first guy removed from the lineup because that's more of a lateral move. Hagelin adds a dimension to the team that really no one else can. His speed is really unparalleled compared to the rest of the guys on the roster. Yes Gaborik can take off but he plays a different game. Hagelin plays a solid 2-way game, gets in on the forecheck quick, throws his body around, applies alot more pressure on opposing defenseman, taking away time and space which lead to turnovers. He is exactly Tortorella wants in a player

so with Rupp relatively close to coming back am I the only one that thinks Mitchell is going down even though he has played very well?

I figure EC has a one way deal and they wont make the same mistake with sending Avery down again.

Hagelin is a big part of the future so I think he is here to say

I sit Mitchell, and when Wolski comes back I sit whichever one of our bottom 6 guys is playing worse- Avery, Boyle or Feds.
