I would only entertain the thought if the package was for three players we would waiver in less then a year.

There are only 3 players in this league that I would trade Karlsson for if I was the GM. And there's no need to list them because everyone should already have a good idea who they are.

Waste of bandwidth.

No way Karlsson is moved unless the overpayment is just ridiculous.

Like Jonathan Toews ridiculous.

Why is everyone acting like he's suggesting we give him away for free?

I feel like Karlsson brings more to the Senators than Tyler Seguin could simply because we'd drastically lose our #1 defenseman plus Rundblad isn't ready to take on that mantle yet. Furthermore, we drafted Karlsson. He's the the face of the rebuild and 1 of the future leaders of our great franchise. I can't imagine the Sens trading him at least for the next 20 years. I'm clearly overexagurating but I felt the need to throw that out there.

I still can't believe this thread hasn't been closed yet.

It's not terrible value assuming Seguin continues the way he's going (which is a huge assumption) but I still wouldn't do it.

Then of course there's the fact that Seguin isn't proven yet (give him time to put up 80 points in a season and I'll be sold)

Wiercioch = Patrick Traverse, hardly a top 4 d-man

:facepalm is all I can say to the insane idea of trading Karlsson. We should be signing him to a 12+ year contract, not trading him.

So is the idea to trade Karlsson for depth? Because Ottawa has a ton of depth now and in the future at virtually every position besides goalie. What they really lack is true elite talent. Outside of Karlsson and Spezza, there really isn't any. So, to trade Karlsson seems incredibly counter productive from a on ice and off ice perspective.

Here, this educational video should sum up my thoughts on this idea:

That's like Boston saying "We'll wait to see Karlsson improve his defensive game before we're sold."

I think if we were to trade Karlsson and got a high quality #2 centerman as well as a highly touted young D prospect a la Hamonic, Hamilton, Ekman-Larsson ...etc, we pull the trigger. Obviously one of the two would have to be unproven for the deal to be considered by the other party

Have you watched Wiercioch this year in Bingo? He's looked great in the 5-6 games I've watched. Really developing well in all facets of the game and he still has a ton of growing to do. Potential is sky high for PW. Guys who are that big and skate that well are rare. Looking more and more like mini-Myers.
