Karlsson is the Top defencemen you build your team around. He is not the guy to trade away.

Karlsson is a defencemen you won't trade away because nobody will pay the price it would take to get him.

I'd rather entertain offers on Rundblad see if someone would overpay.

However, if some team threw a ridiculously good offer for Erik Karlsson, I would consider it and look at slotting Rundblad onto the top unit.

Yes. Most teams will mention his defensive problems. And they would be right.

Decreasingly right by the day.

There'd be a significant price to get Schenn out of Toronto, believe it or not, GM's would point to the fact that he just isn't that good.

It would be hard to let him go considering the construction of our team. Right now he adds a chemistry to the locker room that we haven't had in years. If that starts to go away we might entertain the thought of trading him because it's true that we have Rundblad (who I think will be better than Karlsson) but again it's not like having a great defensive corps is a bad thing.

To be perfectly honest I would rather keep both. Potentially we could have two of the top 5 D-men in the league in a few years. Why give it up?

If for nothing else, this has been a great thread for pictures and gifs.

Unless contract talks go very very sour, this is a pointless thread though. He's our best player now and going forward.

There's the odd Leaf fan out there that wouldn't trade Karlsson for Lupul

Karlsson for Crosby and Malkin.

Thats honestly the only way I would consider trading him. So he's not going anywhere.

Instead of making a new thread about this, would a $6 million cap hit for Karlsson be realistic for signing him or would it be more or less?

obvious troll...

but i would do rnh for karlsson, besides the other ones that's been stated. i wouldn't do seguin. karlsson is much more needed in our system than he is and more talented, imo.

Myers' 5.5 could be the best comparable for Karlsson.

If he has a 70 point season and keeps it up....he might even get a bit more.

Gretzky was traded because Pocklington ran into finacial trouble because of his involvement in the meat packing industry.I was in Edmonton in those days he was public enemy no. one.Took him a few years but he publically admitted that. That was the beginning of his collapse finacially. But NONONO in the middle of a rebuild that is going good ya cant trade your no. one young guy.

Lol having a discussion on trading the best player on the team is not "logical" If we continue this habit we would become the Maple Leaf fans.

Why would you trade him, unless you get a player like Crosby which we all know wouldn't happen therefore this thread becomes useless.

All paranoid and never satisfied.

EK is a lock to be a star in this league for a very long time. You watch him for 5 seconds and it's blatantly obvious. I would entertain an offer, but it would have to be crazy good. The kind of trade that almost never happens.

No one else wants to take a jab at Karlsson's value? We all know none of these are gonna happen but it's fun to see what everyone thinks of him.

The responses in this thread are more ridiculous than the OP IMO.
