On Oct. 1, one of the player representatives at the Toronto meeting introduced himself to Boston owner Jeremy Jacobs.
"Mr. Jacobs, I'm Billy Guerin," the player said, extending his hand to a man who did not recognize him. "I played for the Bruins for two years."
It was the first time they had ever met.
