Seriously, I saved so many of these (love LOVE THE BURE ONES!).
I hate how Bure is ALWAYS forgotten as a Ranger. I mean he scored a lot of goals per season for us and was my second favorite player in the league for so many years (first was Gartner, than Bure, then Domi.. hell my license plate says DOMI) and every year we were rumored to trade for him and it would fall through.
I remember Gretzky told Smith if you get Bure for me I will play another year or two. Smith balked and Gretzky retired. And we got Bure the following year from the Panthers. WTF. And we traded Filip Novak (and others) for him
Funny side piece... I bought a hockey box of Upper Deck SPX Authentic cards from the year 2006-2007 and I got a card of FILIP NOVAK with a Game Used Jersey piece in the card. He was a Blue Jacket that year, but I thought it was funny I got it the other day and here we are talking about Bure on the Rangers board inwhich no one ever talks about him.
If bures knees held up, he would have broken the Rangers Season Scoring record. I am SURE of it. He came real close right? Just missed? And then Jagr did it later on.. Correct?
Anyways, I loved Graves and didnt want anyone to beat his record of most goals scored in a season but when Bure was going for it I kept thinking, "Bure is the one guy the ONE GUY I would want to break that record".
Later on when Jagr did it, I didnt mind so much cause I was more about finally having someone who could pot the goals all the time for us and we were desperate for a goal scoring machine. So Jagr I was happy about when he broke the record.
Back to the topic at hand. Very cool thread guys. Keep them coming.
I am going to use some of these avatars on some racing sites I belong too. Tired of my race cars as my avatars.. SO VERY COOL.

I loved Bure as a Ranger. One of my fondest memories of going to a game as a kid was getting the Bure hat they sold at the team store. Was one of my favorite Rangers back then.

Wow... just saw that BB threw me mine in a message. Dammit... I could've been rocking this for almost 2 weeks already. Can't wait to find out what theme we go with this year. I'm totally using this picture no matter what we go with.
For whatever reason, the phrase "New York Rising" popped into my head. What type of theme you could associate with the phrase, I don't have an idea at this point. But, it seems to sum up the team for me. We're a young team on the ascent that is finally getting the pieces in place to be a contender.
Since I bumped the thread, does anyone have an avatar they'd like? I've got my photoshop going (albeit slowly).
Would you mind making me a different Hagelin one than the one you have? Just throw one together and do what you think looks good. Maybe a Michigan (yellow and blue) to New York (Red and Blue) theme. (a "changing" avatar, like the Torts kind of guys ones)
If you could do something along those lines I'd appreciate it
