No prospect is ever a lock, unless you are basically picked number #1.

You have a point. I think Larsson will be our leading force but I can definitely see Karlsson being one of those that outshines the more "expected guys".

And Jesper Fasth is so damn unlucky. Hope he can play more this season.

Jakob Silfverberg is terrific.

Can't wait for him to suit up as a Senator.

Gunnarsson have a great chance of being drafted with a nice WJC, the others probably wont be. I do however think highly of Rasmussen, Burström and Fantenberg. In a few years they might end up in NA as free agents. Another guy I truly like is Ted Brithén playing for Rögle in Allsvenskan. I could see him become a National team player in a few years, then KHL/NHL. The kid got talent!

I see in 25 games with Modo John Westin has 0 points. Unless the team is afraid of him like the habs are with Scott Gomez he must be playing well away from the puck ? Or they have a ton of injuries...

Nygren playing well ?

Don't know what JAS is specifically refering too but he had a pretty sweet snipe on the PP yesterday.

how does Marcus Kruger and Oscar Lindberg compares? Who's the better prospect?

And what's Jacob Josefson's potential? How does he compare to Ryan O'Reilly?

I am no expert, but I would think Krüger is a better prospect than Lindberg. Krüger have a history of being a playmaker on the PP and producing a decent amount of points, Lindberg has never been very productive on SEL-level, although it's evident that the kid got talent.

Josefson is a favourite of mine, I like him much better than both of Krüger and Lindberg, I just think he oozes hockeysense. He has yet to fill out his frame and so on, but no matter if he is going to be productive on NHL-level he is going to be a useful player. He understands the game and have tools to make use of that. Josefson is going to be good in the longrun. However he has been very unlucky with injuries so far in his career

Andre Petersson seems to be finding his way in the AHL.

7 game point streak (3+4). 5 + 6 in 20 games total. Played his first night with Stephane Da Costa tonight which I expect will help him sustain or improve his output.

That's good for André. I think he needs a couple of full North American seasons under his belt before he's ready. He's exciting to watch.

even if coming back from a long injury, imo 11pts in 20 AHL games is still a bit disappointing for a guy with Petersson's skills.. so, albeit explainable with rust and new league/rink adjustment, that makes me wonder whether he really was 100% healthy from the start of the season, or if reportedly he is right now for that matter.

His health is my only real concern; if he is 100% i think he should be scoring like a G every two games (and be a PPG player), not 1 every 4. Hopefully that's what happens moving forward.

Who would those who see Johan Larsson often compare him to? Does he have a solid chance to be a top 6 guy in the NHL or is it more likely he's just one of those strong third line-type of players?

Hm maybee a bit like Hörnqvist but with better offensive ability and a whole lot tougher(but a centerman of course). I don't know how that comparrison fairs. But i can't think of any one else right now.

I agree. If he continues to really score people are going to start wanting to see him in Ottawa...maybe he debuts this year in the 2nd half but I could see him spending most of next season there too. Great coach down there and in there's been occasions where he's said Petersson was his best forward. Seems like a lot of the concerns with him are being answered, defensive play, playing in the corners, speed.

7 points in his last 7 is the important trend here...for a rookie player it's probably more important to gauge his adjustment by his most recent stretch of games. To begin the season not only is he adjusting to work, more physicality, linemates, adjusting to life in Binghamton even, he may also not have been on the top line, on the PP, etc.

I don't believe his health really is much of a concern, after he came to Ottawa last year they said they fixed it and it shouldn't hold him back. On the top line now, playing a lot of minutes, and now producing every game....I think he'll now be flanking Da Costa...and while Da Costa has only been down for one game, he might be the best center in the AHL and he's going to get AP the puck.
