Quick question about Varlamov. It seems like he only has 2 types of games: either absolutely lights out, or not good.
5 games in a row of 2 or less goals allowed and over .910...before that he has like 4 games in a row of 3 or more and under .900.
Was he always like this, even for you guys? Seems like a goalie that needs confidence to do well...hopefully just because he is still so young, especially for a tendy.

Those last five are since Giguere spelled him for three, right? It's either an endurance issue or he tries to do much when he hits some tough spots and spirals.
That's the risk you run when you put Getzlaf on the point. That team misses Visnovsky a lot (slow start or not).

If Jagr didn't deserve one in regulation for showing up the ref, swinging his stick and waving his hands complaining at the ref, Getzlaf certainly didn't deserver a double minor in OT. Call the games even or get a new job. Classic NHL refs....want to be bigger than the game.
You can't simultaneously contend he deserves a 10 minute misconduct but doesn't deserve the 2 minute unsportsmanlike. Either penalty would have been sufficient. You can argue that he didn't deserve either one, but based on his comments after the game even he knows he did.

Again...seems like you don't understand the critical junctures of sporting events where the good refs let the players play instead of practically handing one side the win. Anything to keep your hate alive....have a good night.
