Beauchemin seems to be a horse for course. He's sucked everywhere except Anaheim. I was interested in him when he was a free agent, not so sure I would be now. A new contract might be skewed by the fact that he's not a #1 defenseman who has been getting #1 minutes.

Simmonds for Beauchemin? Sign me up, dude plays just like timmo with out as much offensive ability and much stronger and better ability to body people up in front of the net.

Who knows, we might have the cap space with LTIR reserve. He's definately a player I would want to have for a playoff run. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if Pronger or Timonen aren't right.
Nah, it would take a roster player (for cap purposes). Getting as creative as possible (and waiving Shelley, etc.) we have a max of roughly 2.4M in cap space. We'd need a Simmonds trade to get to the number we need.

Anaheim had a great first period only because Timonen let them, out of the kindness of his heart. His heart, by the way, has 44 chambers. Hence his number.

The call at the end was cheesy but Getzlaf shouldn't have lost his mind.
The hook was legit, Voracek turned him inside out. He yelled at the ref all the way across the ice, then slammed his stick into the boards. You don't show up NHL refs like that, esp. when you've already been on them over other calls. Getzlaf cost his team a chance at a shootout with a selfish play - which looks like it might be a good summation of the Ducks' season so far. Good luck Brucie...

I thought Beauch and Sbisa both played really well.

And did I miss some Flyers embellishments or something? Or are the Ducks fans just looking to grasp onto?

I think he likes it there as well, so I don't know how interested he would be in a move, and I think he has a nmc.

I though Sbisa and Lydman had pretty strong games for them as well. Lydman is a beast on the pk.
I agree with The lydman comment. Lydman, fowler, beauchemin, sbisa and Vis when healthy is quite a talented group of defense-men. Top 5 in the league maybe higher.

It was important for Bryzgalov to get a win, too. I wouldn't be surprised if he played tomorrow at Phoenix based on Laviolette's comments earlier in the week. The team is off until Wednesday.

I'd play him.

I really want to see Simmonds get a goal, it will boost his play up.

After a shaky first Bryz tightened it up. Let him keep the momentum going, especially if there's a 3 day break afterwards.

Obviously everyone can be a little ticked off at the refs for some calls, by my the Ducks board takes it to a whole new level. From the start of the second period every other post either said "another embellishment" or "******* dive!".

Christ, one guy was complaining that Hartnell dove when he took the baseball swing right to the neck

Otherwise, that would be one game played for Bryzgalov in about two weeks.

as much as it pains me to see Bobo sit games out, that is the spot hes in as backup..

time for Bryz to start a bunch of games and get in a frame of mind.

bouncing back n forth between goalies doesnt seem to be working out for either guy very well.

Yeah, I think they should play him. Like Beef said, he tighten up. His glove save on Selanne was great.

Yeah, I would like to see him get another start. I'd bet he really wants to get the games against Phoenix as well. As good a game as any to get one of those whatchacallit... when you don't let the puck enter your own net?

We were pretty fortunate with a few calls tonight. Don't know if there were embellishments, but there were a few 50/50 calls that went our way (both those that sent Ducks to the box, and those that kept our guys on the ice).

Even if Getzlaf has to control himself better out there, it's not often you see a team awarded a four-minute pp in ot like that.

I must have missed that too. Only two players for us who drew high sticks according to the box score was Zolnierczyk and Hartnell, and we all know how bad Hartnell took his....
