Caps Insider has Sasha out with a shoulder injury. Nothing to sneeze at I suppose for a guy as chissled as Sasha.

Having said that, first The Hammer is scratched and an injury pops up, now Sasha? What if DFH is just parking these two underachievers and using injuries to massage their bruised ego's?

He isn't backup material. He won't look solid getting a game every third or fourth game. Not gonna happen. Would love to see him prove me wrong. We would be better off trading him to a team where we he can start regularly. At least get some value from him.

Semin took that hard hit to the shoulder that drew the boarding penalty, and his minutes were limited quite severely afterwards. Wouldn't make sense that he's now totally healthy but being called injured just for the heck of it.

I don't remember that hit, but I will defer to you on it. I just read to much into injuries to two of the more deserving players to get a scratch from time to time.

Yeah Semin took a big hit from Staal I believe and he did get up slow after that hit and he didn't play much after that and when he was on the ice he was pretty much invisable, not to say that's been new for him this year.

Mentioning Staal now I remember that hit. It was a crushing blow. Sorry Sasha.

Well, when you're playing half AHL teams in the preseason, you're gonna light it up in the AHL during their regular season.

However, maybe he'd have had a hat trick in Buffalo...

Fingers are crossed....Verizon was downright ugly with "fan" venom after the last game, barely being able to cross the redline with the puck. If they don't show up with some offense tonight, the anger train is going to pick up some momentum.

Hate to say it but when you have a second line that consists of Eakin, Mojo, and Knuble....your going to lose a lot of games. I like Eakin but for the love of god send him back to Hershey. Would like to see Bourque get a chance up here. Eakin just generally does....nothing, neither bad nor good.
Bourque has had more than his fair share of chances....he's Eakin-lite IMO.

You can check the boxscore on the official website.

http://capitals.nhl.com/club/boxscore.htm?id=2011020358

Anyway, 16:52 ES with 2:30 PP = 19:22 total TOI.

I don't watch Capitals Central on CSN a lot prior to games, but this is the first time I can remember the "Startrack Player to Watch" wasn't OV. Chimera got it for this game. Whats next? The Chimera Cam?

We've already decided that the Chimercam is the best thing ever. Also, he has to keep the mustache because it makes him look a bit like Rob Halford.

A pregame no relation. Come on, JB, I'm trying to stay sober until at least the middle of the second.

If anyone in Canada had the same problem as me and had the game blacked out, CBC has a nice stream on its website. Not sure if it's available for the Americans though.

Well I hope CSN has some backup cameramen available because keeping up with Chimera can not only be exhausting, but injuries like pulled groin and hip flexors are a real possibility.
