An attempt to fill a hole up front for depleted SA Rampage.

No idea how good any of them are, but it makes sense, we have great D depth and we're hurting at F right now, even if this is just to help out San Antonio.

According to Dan Weiss, the Rampage radio guy:

Just talked to Chuck Weber and the plan is to have Wright and Vernace in San Antonio ahead of tomorrow's re-match with OKC.

Wright will fill a major void at center right now. Tonight, Rampage playing with only 2 natural centermen.

What's the story on these two? How does it benefit?

Done a little bit of reading on Wright, and from what I gather he was rushed and developed really poorly by the old Lightning regimen. Surprised everyone by Playing well enough to earn a spot our of training camp as a 19 year 2 years ago, was put on the checking lines, played well, was promoted and played on a line with Lecavalier and St. Louis but was then sent down to juniors. Hasn't really recovered since.

Nice size, can play a checking line role and play it well and has the talent to possibly develop into more than just a 4th line center. Still really young, only 21.

Not sure about this. Kostka had 55 points in the A last year from defense. I know we've got great depth, but...

Kostka has been pretty terrible this year. He's been the rotating healthy scratch with Caruso. Small sample size, but color me unimpressed.

The Rampage have an ECHL guy as their #1 center tonight and a LW as their #2 center. This trade was for them, nothing more IMO.

Pretty much both teams got players to fill holes in the minors, that's about it.

I think the Lightning got a lot more immediate help in the AHL. Wright has more NHL potential. 21 yo, 6-4, decent wheels, two way game, has already produced at the AHL level.

Yeah, I've never been impressed by Kostka either. He's terrible defensively at times. Wright definitely has the most upside of any player in this trade. Vernace really isn't bad either. Good trade.

Kostka did impress me in the offensive zone a few times though.
I don't know these guys but Wright is 6'4 200 with obvious reach and Vernace is 6'0 215 solid.
I haven't seen them, so if CaptianScrewy's findings are accurate, they sound promising.
