Why is Halak in the All-Star ballot, not Elliott????

The kid has a 10-1-2 record, while Halak has 4-7-2, yet he's in the ballott as a possible candidate for the All-Star game! I don't get it...

They made the ballot before Elliot was playing well, Halak played well last season and Elliot was horrible last season.

He did?

IMO, he played ever so slightly above average. Is that good enough to get you on the ballot as a goalie?

Well said. Halak doesn't deserve it for last season, either.

We need a ballot drive to get Elliott in the game. He deserves it.

He played exceptionally when healthy. Unfortunately, there was a pretty good stretch there where he was playing injured. He looked great when he came back.

First off, Elliott has been playing well all year so to say they made it before he was playing well is just not true. Also Halak only had 1 win when the ballots were announced. It's simple... It's the popular candidates from each team.

I made a post here in the National Hockey League section of HFBoards asking people if the players nominated for their team deserved to be on the ballot. Almost EVERYBODY had a problem with somebody being on the ballot and somebody else not being on the ballot from their team.

This happens every year sadly. The good news is that voting is only for the starters. The coaches / captains will pick the rest of the players that get to go.

Ok I meant to say that when it was announced, how would people know Elliott would keep it up. The ballot list is a joke anyway. It's not like Elliott would be able to beat out Thomas as the starter, so if he keeps it up he can still be picked.

I think just from the start Halak had last season was enough for him to be qualified. In all honesty I think it's a good thing, this could boost his confidence level a lot. I agree it should have been Elliot if we were basing it off this yr but either way I am happy for Halak. The guy seemed to lose his confidence late in the season. Something like this may be what he needs.

Let's not forget Montreal alone could put up enough votes to get Halak in the game even if it was riding the bench and doing the shootouts.

.... Every position you could vote for had the write in option at the bottom. I put Elliott and Shattenkirk in on mine via that.
