On Kreider: I don't think it's just in college that he hasn't been as involved as you hope for in the play. I noticed it in the World Juniors too
He does dominate some games and his stats reflect that, but Tortorella is not going to allow him to float like he does on occasion.
Yes I think that's fair to say... I think he's going to need to skate alongside a center who carries the puck a lot and sets him up to finish plays because he's not real creative with the puck.... Maybe Richards, you never know.
What do you guys think of Jasper Fasth, does he had Hagelin potential? More/Less? And yes, part of the reason I'm comparing the 2 is their nationalities.

Hard to really compare -but here is my take: Fasth is more of a boom or bust sniper but with a higher upside. Could be a first liner, F needs to get a little stronger - the whole toolset is there though. Been very unlucky with freaky injuries so far - but does not seem physically weak. Somewhat taller than Hagelin - but Hagelin is more physically built. Hagelin is faster, better defensively and more of a leader-type character player. Fasth is better with the puck - Hagelin better without it. Fasth has the better shot. Hagelin is a Torts guy all the way. Fasth is by no means a floater though. Will be interesting to see Fasth at next years camp (hopefully with Lindberg too ).
C'mon guy, nyr2k2 updates the stats at least 2x week. It's a bit much to expect them all to be updated in real time.
Haha yeah. At minimum, I update Thursday night and Sunday night. More if I have time. I actually have a life and job outside of HF, despite how it may appear.

In the NYR write-up for the 20 Prospects in 20 Days, I'm pretty sure Anders Hedberg alluded to leaving players like Fasth overseas longer for development before bringing them over to NA... He alluded to Fasth coming over in another 2 years, meaning them may want to let him player an additional season in the SEL before they want to get a look at him for potentially making the NYR roster.

Thanks, interesting. So who from our prospects have 1st line potential? Fasth, Thomas, Kreider, and Miller? Not saying all or even one of them will be a 1st liner though.

I think he needs to sign this summer. I can see him signing, coming to camp and then being offered to play the SEL if he does not blow the NYR team away at camp & ev being loaned to HV71 next year...
Hedberg said it was better to have a guy come over 2 years too late than 2 years too early. I believe he said they'd look to bring Fasth over in three years--two years after this season.
