I like Weber but lately (last 5-6 games) he's been bad on defence and ineffective at forward. He needs a game in the pressbox when Campoli/Spacek comes back.

He was the sixth defenceman & has lost the confidence of his coaches. He's been horrible lately. He wasn't injured. He just didn't play except for the PP, where he picked up his assist.

I believe we need a MINIMUM of 8 points in the next 6 games. 5 home games. 2 tough opponents, 2 crap opponents, and 2 (ugh) Devils games. I don't care how we do it, we need at least 8 points. No excuses.

As for tonight, great effort.

Kostitsyn was a beast.

Price will have to have some more games like that this month.

Weber will soon be a trade bait.

How about this season? The main reason he doesn't take more heat is that Weber's play draws a lot of attention.

Decent overall game however the team needs killer instinct. You cant continually waste PP's when you have a chance to put a team away.

Weber is this year's O'Byrne... odd man out due to numbers and hasn't play well enough to force anyone to keep him around... I think he'll be traded for a mid-level prospect than find his game w/ new surroundings and coaching staff. Would be ironic if he's dealt to the Islanders.

Is that you Mr. Healy? He was saying the same thing on the broadcast. Or Hrudey, I always get them mixed up.

Weber was FORWARD tonight (with the exception of his few PP shifts). St-Denis played as the #6 defenseman. Was he that invisible?! I saw him make some good passes in his 10 minutes of ice-time.

Anyway, Weber looked good in his limited minutes. Hopefully it's a confidence issue and he can get back to where he was for the first few weeks of the season.

Subban is actually playing at #1 D-man quality, but the narrative around him is "sophomore slump" because of a few mistakes that ended up in the net.

Very true. Ottawa or Washington? I would have to go with Washington simply because they would only be tied with us in points. Ottawa wins and they're 2 points up on us. I like to keep the teams above us in close range. Games in hand mean nothing unless teams win them. So here's hoping for NJ, Ottawa, Buffalo, and Leaf losses tonight.

Kostitsyn is the best Habs player.
Cole is very intense.
Emelin and Leblanc play a good game too. Leblanc is definitely better than Palushaj.
Darche plays ok, but it's his best game of the season.
PK and Cammelleri are ordinary even though they seem working hard.
Gill is awesome in PK.

Every error PK Subban does, gets magnified x20 because most expect him to play mistake free hockey.

He's not having a horrible season like maybe half this board is saying.

Subban sucked to start the season. No question about that.

He's been pretty damn good since then though but #1 quality is pushing it.

Gorges is far and away our #1 defenseman. If he wasn't here, Subban would be making a lot more brainfarts than he currently is.

That is true though. I do think by far Josh Gorges has been our best defenseman, very rarely have I seen him commit a mistake. Surgery last year was probably the best thing that could ever happen to him.

Usual venom being spewed in Subban's direction from Milbury saying he embellished on the crosscheck from behind by Williams.

And Carey didn't make the saves like he usually does. He hasn't actually "sucked to begin the season", but each of his mistakes has ended up in the net. This sometimes happens in short stretches. Almost invariably it doesn't last.

People were up in arms because he was a minus early on... funny how he's +3 now and nobody says a peep about that.

In reality, the Subban-Gorges is hauling the team and the rest of the D is basically just hanging on. But somehow everyone is going on about Subban's "sophomore slump". If that's his version of a slump then I'd love to see him on his game.

I think Subban has been pulling that pairing, more than Gorges, but the two together have indeed been awesome. It's hard to disentangle their play because they're together all the time.

Bingo. It's like some people forget this is his 2nd season and he's being asked to play as a #1 Dman.

My thing is...who's there to take him under his wing? Who's there to tell him how to play on the PP? Gill? He's not that kind of player. Basically, PK is learning how to play all by himself.

I felt the same for Price a few years back when he was struggling. He needed a vet goalie to mentor him...not goalies who were competing for the #1 job.

Maybe not as related but...

(first off I'm a huge Doughty fan) Doughty acts pretty much like Subban does.. and I mean the positives and the negatives. But when Doughty does it, it's because he has passion.. but Subban does it, it's because he's a baby or what ever. The double standards are pathetic.. Ive never seen any player get this much hate by outside fans.. not even Lapierre.

Good game from the boys this afternoon. Loved watching the leblanc-eller-kostitsyn line. It turned out to be a good matchup vs LA's 3rd line. Back to MTL now to play the BJ's!(insert joke here)...LETS GO BOYS!!!! GO HABS GO!
