BTW great to see Stoll on the 2nd line again. The Kings are in an offensive slump, so we really needed his playmaking abilities...

Williams - Stoll - Brown, average 4th line. At least Brown is trying, Stoll and Williams are just laughably bad. I'd feel better with Toffoli and Kozun up and Stoll and Williams in Machester.

Pretty much expected a frustrating loss, and sure enough...

At least Penner scored.

I didn't mean to say that he is the problem, far from it. He just hasn't been the offensive force that he can be recently. I know he isn't going to do it every game, it's just unfortunate that it's coming right now. He can do it by himself, we know that, and before the lines were adjusted, he, Williams, and Gagne were generating great chances, but nothing was going in.

Maybe I'm just a little frustrated. I just feel that he is one of those guys that when the team is down and not generating enough offensive you can count on to get things going, but it's just not happening at the moment.

It may be a winning record. but in 93 games, that looks mediocre to me. Thank God for OTL points, or else it's a 47-46 record. We're just not one of the elites.
So 47 wins and 46 losses?

If you're gonna count OTW as wins, then count OTL as losses.

Last time he played a great game, was during his first game back against SJ in the playoffs.

That's what I just said. This team is basically a .500 team. A "seesaw" team that alternates wins and losses. We are better than this, but unfortunately, this is the reality.

I'm just saying it's pretty clear that DL is tying his job to TM's. Even if we had a new GM, I doubt he'd make many sweeping personnel changes.

...but if I ever have to hear about another ****ing 5-year-plan again, it had better be my lottery disbursement.

One a positive note, I'm starting to see the old Drew again. That's a good thing.

Yes, it's clearly only Murray's fault. He has turned a team stocked with talent the Red Army would be envious of and turned them into a bunch of muckers and grinders.

Terry has actually done something only one other guy has done in over a dozen years, he has gotten a Dean Lombardi managed team into the Top 10 in GF.

Very true. He was flying today.

And good on Penner

Aside from the obvious jinxes (day game, Montreal, etc), we seem to have a REALLY hard time with defensive systems like Montreal has...reminded me of the Edmonton game earlier this year too.

Certainly not. I think it's easier for Murray to tweak a few things than for Lombardi to fire the coach.

You said it yourself that LA has the players to succeed. Murray needs to figure it out.

Posityive note, Penner was great. Kings really need him, hope he can keep up the energy. Doughty was fantastic.

I love how penner was playing and drew looked pretty Boss too. Just fire murray for a cherry on top.

Seriously.

Not to single you out because plenty of other people have said it...but

Where are these players needed to succeed?

I see holes at

- 1st line lw
- 1st line rw
- 3rd line lw
- 3rd line c
- 3rd line rw

This team is good between the pipes and defensively, but there is clearly, atleast IMO not enough offense.

Not a bellwether game for the zebras, but perhaps the Kings would gain more respect from them if they averaged more than 0.51 GGP.

Oh, and Kopi sleep-walked the entire game...does anyone else notice that his performances during matinee games are just not up to par?

Murray's had quite a while to figure it out. Have you seen any evidence of him changing his philosophy or strategy since he joined the team? What is the chance that he will now after all these years?

Kings are 47-46 in their last 93 games. So if "winning more than they lose" means one game difference, that's not good enough.

I agree that a coaching change is needed, but I disagree that the problem with this team is more Lombardi's problem than Murray's which is what you had originally stated.
