Is that you Mr. Healy? He was saying the same thing on the broadcast. Or Hrudey, I always get them mixed up.
Weber was FORWARD tonight (with the exception of his few PP shifts). St-Denis played as the #6 defenseman. Was he that invisible?! I saw him make some good passes in his 10 minutes of ice-time.
Anyway, Weber looked good in his limited minutes. Hopefully it's a confidence issue and he can get back to where he was for the first few weeks of the season.
Weber had exactly 50 seconds of ES ice time, and yeah, he played that shift as a forward. His other 2:43 was spent as a defenseman on the PP, so he played more as a d-man than a forward. But, it doesn't really matter because St. Denis has passed him on the depth chart on D, which is not good news for Weber.
And, yeah, I did momentary forget St. Denis was the 6th d-man. He really isn't all that noticeable out there, which is a good thing because it means he isn't making any glaring errors.
(first off I'm a huge Doughty fan) Doughty acts pretty much like Subban does.. and I mean the positives and the negatives. But when Doughty does it, it's because he has passion.. but Subban does it, it's because he's a baby or what ever. The double standards are pathetic.. Ive never seen any player get this much hate by outside fans.. not even Lapierre.
This is how media narratives are made. They do this ALL. THE. TIME.
Remember Price and Halak? Price breaks a stick in practice, he's immature. Halak does it a few weeks later, he's competitive.
That's why their analysis is crap. They don't analyze what happens, they build stories.
Subban sucked to start the season. No question about that.
He's been pretty damn good since then though but #1 quality is pushing it.
Gorges is far and away our #1 defenseman. If he wasn't here, Subban would be making a lot more brainfarts than he currently is.
Sucked? That's a little much. Perhaps my expectations aren't as high/unreasonable as yours. How many 2nd year Dmen can play in Montreal in a #1 role?
Subban's game is high risk/high reward...sorta like...uh...that guy that everyone loves..Mr. Drew Doughty. Wish they'd let him play his game.
We praise a guy like DD who for the most part has been sheltered. But destroy Subban who has basically been left on an island and told to play 30 minutes of mistake free hockey per game, score on the PP and to make sure he doesn't play HIS game.
LOL yea HUGE dive
He fell into the boards after Williams bumped the numbers in the back. Your average boarding call. Cammy wins the puck. They called it. Then Subban slashes the guy's stick and the refs totally ignore it. Fair, but stupid refereeing tbh. Some of that **** is obvious with the technologies we have.
What is fair about calling the penalty on Williams' bump but swallowing the whistle on Subban's tomahawk slash?
Diaz has been up and down like a yo-yo this season, but this game may well be his best so far. I'd love for him to find more consistency. Emelin seems to have found it, now we need it from Diaz.
I assume Campoli and Spacek are close. If Diaz plays like this, then the habs are going to have to make some tough decisions in terms of who to sit. St-Denis is the easy choice to send down even though he's been playing well, do they still send Diaz down too?
Man Diaz play a hell of a game I sam him winning battle againts big guy like a norris candidate I think we should be very patient with this guy he can be a force ! Subban-gorges pair have been our #1 pair no doubt about that but with a mile Josh have been our #1! 26 minutes toinite top 10 for points on even strenght for D in the nhl hes just been a force for us ! I can smell a winning streak coming with the jackets in town tuesday lets carry this momentum for the &&?"&/*$(/& nucks haha
Yeah, no. Subban has been great. Gorges has been better.
There is a reason Gorges is +12 and Subban was something like a -4 until he started playing with Gorges.
Gorges doesn't screw up. Seems like he screws up once every 4 or 5 games.
But what does it matter if Gorges rarely makes a blunder, he's a defensive defenseman and his game is based on doing just that, so great, he's good at what he does woopie. You can't just compare him to a 2-way D that is his partner who is supposed to create chances offensively and say, well, he makes less mistakes than the other guy who is supposed to complement him so therefore he is better.
And besides that, what glaring errors did PK commit now? Am I missing something?
