If that wasn't Tootoo it would have been incidental contact, aparently you can't drive to the net

You mean drive into the goaltender? No, you can't. Doesn't matter who you are.

These Buffalo announcers suck....calling for an immediate suspension for Toots.....

Toots was heading across Miller's crease, NOT towards Miller himself.

Regardless of what just happened, we don't deserve to be losing, let alone down 2-0.

Agree. Tootoo has to make a better decision. I mean, he lost the puck and continued into the goalie. What did he expect? Especially since this is Miller's first game back.

Dumb move, Toots. I can't defend this jackassery.

Man, what happened to the good Buffalo announcers? Only other play by play team i've seen yell "shoot it!" on a live broadcast is columbus...

I think he's at fault, but the puck was poked off his stick after he had already committed to the cut, and Erhoff's stick was directing him right at Miller. Don't know what the jump was about, but I'm not sure he could have avoided a collision at that point.

If Miller doesn't get smoked by Lucic a few weeks ago, Tootoo's play is a 2min penalty with some pushing and shoving. He is getting pushed from behind by the Sabres' defenseman and attempts to effectively do what Kesler did on Thursday by jumping over to avoid contact.

Honestly where could he have gone? I've seen plenty drive into Rinne and nothing gets called.

Miller AND Gaustad throwing punches, and they still managed to get a 1:00 PP out of all that? How's that work?

To me it looked like Tootoo was trying to avoid crushing directly into Miller. Once he realized the contact with the goalie was inevitable, Tootoo tried to jump over Miller going parallel to the goal. If he would have not tried to jump away from the head on collision, Miller would have been drilled right into the net/top bar of the goal (and he would have been really hurt). But today's NHL is very sensitive toward any sort of collision, specifically with respect to goalies. So Tootoo will be suspended 2-3 games, my guess.

Tootoo wasn't going at Miller. For the love of God it's not that hard to see. He lost the puck and went sideways across the crease, not at Miller himself. And I love the coincidence that it's Miller's first game back from a concussion. Toots in 2007 doing this? Yeah I'd think it was intentional....but this was just him getting caught in a bad position and it being Miller's first game back makes him look worse.

NHL will make example of Tootoo by suspending him. First, it's Tootoo (for his past episodes), then it's Miller (for the reasons outlined above by drake), and finally NHL is sensitive towards charging goalies as of late.

I am with you! They are making this out to be way bigger than it is. Tootoo for sure could have "tried" to avoid as much contact, and will probably get a suspension, but these announcers have to get over it. It was not as intentional as they think.
Really though, if someone ran into Pekka or Anders.....your fans, and announcers would be going ballistic too!

Of course, though I'd hope the more rational of us would still try to see the play as objectively as possible. I'm wondering if this wasn't Miller in his first game back, if this even goes this far. Glad he's alright though.

I just talked to my dad who is at the game and he talked to Pete Weber and someone from Buffalo and they were surprised Toots got a gamer and Buffalo got (essentially) nothing. Don't be surprised if this ends up being less than it looks like from our end and moreso from Buffalo's end.
