Haha that has to be one of the most ridiculous reasons to get sent down that I've seen. Hopefully all goes well and he comes back up.
Poor play? Nope
Losing team? Nope
Attitude problems? Nope
Dentist appointment? Yep!

At first glance, I was like WTF??
But I get why they are doing this. I'd expect him back when he's all healed up.

Being reassigned to Bingo doesn't even mean he has to report to Bingo. It just means he doesn't get paid his NHL salary and it doesn't count against Ottawa's cap hit.
Since the lockouts lots of teams have had guys spend the year moving up and down between the farm team and the main club to save cap space. They're not actually moving back and forth, it's just a financial thing.

They tried to bring the dentist up, but he would have had to sign a two-way contract.

aside from Niki, Rooster is quickly becoming my fav player on this team. Good on him for putting his health first. He should be back for either the Habs game or Buffalo game this weekend.

By the way, read on Latvian sports forum, that his wisdom tooth had started to grow right when he was called up, he played through the 4 games with anti-pain drugs, because he didn't want to miss the chance.

Keep him on the damned drugs.
He certainly fit in well.

How has he played? I've been interested in his development since he scored this goal:

I think he's fit in better than anyone could have predicted. He's getting regular minutes on the third line with Condra and Smith and looking great on the PK.

Not alot of that.
Great on the PK, blocks shots with reckless abandon.
Solid 3rd line LW with (I hope) zero chance of ever playing in the AHL ever again.
The guy is a gamer and competes balls to the wall on every shift. He's come a long way from getting sent back to junior as an overager.

He's on the most consistent line in the team. Hard working, good 2 way player with flashes of offensive contribution. I'm a fan.
