No. If anything they should pair them on the PP. Otherwise they need someone else a bit more sound playing with them.

In a strange strange way I wish Foote stayed to pair with Johnson. Or we brought in a 33+ y.o. defender to help out Johnson.

Jovo sounds like someone to help.

Anyone that's not from hawaii should not say "brah". It makes you sound like you're trying too hard to be cool. If you went to hawaii and said it to a local, chances are good you would get beat up.

EJ is back tonight.

Kobasew, who has been playing well lately, is out with a leg injury.

Guess that means it's 7 defensemen tonight.

2 right hand shots, plus Elliott shouldn't be anywhere near the top pairing yet.

Actually, no, Elliott with EJ makes sense. We need EJ to settle his game down and focus on defense.

EJ strikes me more as a Rob Blake type of d-man, a guy who can provide offense, but isn't a true puckmover. Blake-Liles was a great pairing for us.

No it doesn't make any sense, they're both RH D-man which would force one of them to play on their off side, that would be bad for both of them and Elliot isn't ready to play on the top pairing.

Elliott uses the left side much more effectively than EJ does. I was thinking about this before, and I could see either Elliott or Hejda/O'Byrne on EJ's pair.

Elliott could be what EJ needs to spark his offense.

It means we're putting all of our eggs in one basket and why split Wilson and Elliot?

Maybe on the PP. Elliott shouldn't be a top pair, and he'll probably have his ice time cut a lot with EJ coming back. All too often he looked lost against the Blues and he was on the ice a lot when the Avs got hemmed in. Even JML, who was much more developed, struggled with the same thing.

I agree Elliott should not be getting top pair minutes. Is everyone really opposed putting KQ on the top pair with EJ

EJ KQ
Wilson Elliott
Hejda SOB

This. Hejda should not be playing anymore than third pairing minutes. I think Quincey would compliment EJ quite well.

I'd actually like to see Quincey and Johnson paired together. Quincey seems to always elevate his level of play when he is paired with EJ. A guy like Robyn Regehr would have been the perfect addition to this team. Let's just hope a top pairing guy begins to slump, or become unaffordable and gets traded for cheap sometime during the year.

We never seem to be able to get top-level guys for cheap, in recent years Anaheim added Visnovsky, Edmonton got Whitney, Buffalo got Regehr, Toronto got Phaneuf...all these guys went relatively cheaply, let's just hope one of these can finally happen for the Avalanche.

That would be awesome. I know everyone on here wants Suter but he won't come cheap and well our management is the epitome of cheap.

EJ Suter = major chub though

Elliott should open EJ up a little more on the PP. Elliott or Wilson seem to be the only guys on the team that can pass for one timers. Get EJ out with one of them and let him roam for the shot. Really need him to get a goal and get going offensively.

I agree my #1 PP would look like this

Duchene-Stastny-Landeskog

Johnson-Elliott

Elliott has sick snipies from the right side on the PP. Park Lando's viking ass next to the net to clean up some dirty rebounds that Conklin may give up.
