6th on the power play

It's about time, we have way too many weapons not to be at least in the top 10. I know the last 2 games have really moved us up, but maybe now we can start scoring a goal or 2 with the man advantage. With our 5 on 5 play we should be able to keep scoring with anyone. Our rookies sure do make a difference in power play and penalty kill.

I still don`t understand why pitsburg and detroit didn`t offer more than 3 million to Jagr. The guy has the best one timer in the league and is the best play maker and is one of only players that you can`t take the puck from in the boards. He is the main reason why I think the flyers have a solid shot at getting the stanley cup this year.

I'd like to see our PP stats for the following:

With Jagr and Pronger

With just Jagr

With just Pronger

Without either Jagr and Pronger

Jagr himself said he turned down more money and more term. Pitt didn't have cap room, so it was probably Montreal or Detroit.

Are PPGs down around the league? We seem to be terrible but have a game where we score multiple goals and all of a sudden we are in the top

Didn't jagr also say if he went to Pitt he would n't play on the right side because that's where Sid sets up on the PP.

Jagr really is a power play specialist, he just does it all. He is good and calm along the boards, great vision, great one timer, and is so shifty in the neutral zone and can carry the puck in the zone. It's fun to watch a bigger guy like him be so shifty.

What do you guys think of Jagr running the powerplay instead of Giroux?

When Giroux has had the puck on the powerplay, he's been predictable.

Before I get bashed here, Giroux is a better all-around player than Jagr, can kill penalties, take face offs and has been a workhorse this year but Jagr in my mind is better in the offensive zone.

Jagr controls the game, he has superior vision, stickhandling, he can finish and pass better than 95% of the league.

Maybe he gets double shifted on the powerplays, have him play with the Giroux and Briere units?

No need to overwork Jagr on the PP. I don't want him getting hurt because he's fatigued.

Besides that, we've got too many forwards who need PP and aren't getting it as it is. Part of the reason Lavy has been using Read, JVR and now Schenn on the point is to give the top 4 D a rest. That's why it's too bad Gus got hurt when he did, he'd be racking up some big minutes now.

I think we have all the tools to have really good powerplay... Left handed sniper on the right in Jagr ( if he's played there), right handed sniper on the left in Roo + both are creative enough to find open space with pass. Put someone who can give them the puck precisely and big body on front of the net and we have excellent first PP unit. The disadvantage of shooting from the wing is if JJ or Roo miss the net it will be more difficult to stop the puck in the zone and it's more difficult for rebounds.

What scares me is poor faceoff skills... It leeds in loosing the zone at the beginning of the PP and 20 sec to reach it again.
