I'm sure Shelley is aware of the fact that he hasn't fought yet this season and that he needs to play solid hockey in order to stay with the Flyers. The problem isn't his awareness, however. It's his skill level. The guy isn't a good hockey player. The coaching staff and management must know more about Shelley's presence in the locker room than we do. I think Shelley seems like a really good guy and a hard working player who provides solid leadership. It's also not too bad having him on the roster during the season because unlike a younger guy, his development isn't stunted by sitting in the press box.
He got his ass kicked in pre-season big time. Players are just going to avoid him; he plays 6-7 shifts a game. When we are on PK or playing from behind he does not play at all. Rarely, can he catch someone with a body check.
I am afraid Dubinsky is right but I'd love Shelley to KO Dubie before he retires.
When Shelley first signed I thought he would at least still be one of the best fighters in the league, but he hasn't even been good at that, even when there is an opponent to fight. It's pretty pathetic to watch him go out there and just be a giant $3 million punching bag/traffic cone.
Homer knows more than all of us and all fans in the league....
Shelley is the real coach and the best locker room presence in the whole world. Only because of him we will win the SC! So stop talking ******** about Homer, Shelley or his Contract. His Contract is the biggest steal in american sport history!!
If anyone want to criticise me i will call shelley himself! So try it
