I think that this is one of the worst line combinations at the worst time that Murray has ever made.
Williams has had questionable chemistry with Gagne, though obviously the first line is the least of our worries.
This guy takes Brown off left wing after he has a very strong showing and then puts in Penner, then Penner has arguably his strongest game in a Kings uniform and the very next game he demotes him and moves Brown back over?
Then the worst move in the whole lineup, Hunter, makes me want to pull my hair out. Hunter doesn't belong on the top 6. Period. End of story.
What is with the banishment of Lewis and Richardson? Think they are redundant? Fine, bench one of them, but they are both high energy, fast skaters, agile skaters, and Lewis is one of our better penalty killers, especially now that Richards is out...
Moreau is a natural left winger. He shouldn't be on the right side, and honestly, his goal was nice and all, but it doesn't mean that he should be on the third line.
Murray just honestly doesn't get it. It has been the same thing year in and year out. Every 10 seconds everyone is playing with someone new. I can't think of any other team that shakes up their lines as much as we do. He does it because he thinks the line combinations aren't working when the whole system isn't working. He has to go. We may have to wait for the offseason, but Lombardi needs to make the call, because this is ridiculous.
"I think part of his game is he’s over aggressive at times, which I like. We’ll tame that. I’d rather tame a lion than paint stripes on the kitty cat." - Dean Lombardi discussing Brayden McNabb

I think we have it backwards. We think Murray does it for the usual reasons... motivation, chemistry, looking for something, waking someone up, blah, blah. Actually he does it because, in his mind, the system is more important than any player or any line combo.
Neither of them can finish. And finish means everything to this team right now. Not energy. Not speed. Not even dot-to-board (heresy!).
(As a matter of fact, I might copyright that for Nike.)
Hunter and Moreau do? I'd rather have the two way guys, that have speed, kill penalties, and can make plays than the old slow guys that get burned, take penalties, and get constantly taken to the boards.
I am a huge Terry Murray hater at this time. But I would also agree that changing coaches right now isn't that good an idea. Too far into the season. If we were near last place, that's one thing. But we should get into the playoffs fine. I think the risk outweighs the return (for now). But I will be happy to say GTFO as soon as the season's over unless we have the cup.
As for these lines, more facepalm. But it's not that bad. I'm interested to see what Lokti does. I really think he is going to have one of those break out games soon. Hope Penner joins him.
This is a JUMBO line up with five edgy guys (Hunter, Moreau, Clifford, Fraser, and Westgarth) designed to lay waste to the Ducks. TM is looking for intensity and a size overmatch. We've already got a bunch of top 6 forwards who can't finish. We don't need to add faster bottom 6 guys who can't finish either.
Maybe he's just trying to reduce the jinx effect since the nasty five aren't expected to score anyway.
Interesting. I'm glad to see the first line the way it is. I hope it jump starts all three of those guys, as they found success earlier this year. Brown back on left wing is nice, as he looked great the game or two he played there a few games ago. The third line is just...odd.
Not to speculate but Dennis Bernstein tweeted:
So I then tweeted back asking if something was going down in Kings land this afternoon and he wrote back:
ETA: I tweeted back Coaching news? or something like that and he said:
