For the most part, I agree with the column. I'm seriously getting tired of all of this Ottawa talk, though. I mean, of their 22 games, only 3 opponents have been in the top 15 record-wise. And all three of those teams were in the 11-15th bracket. In other words, they've played ZERO top 10 teams. ZERO top 5 teams.

And here's the kicker: They LOST to 2 of those 3 opponents.

The Kings, on the other hand, have faced 23 top 15 teams in their 25 games.

I'm anticipating a big King win in that game. The Ottawa myth is about to get tested.

Having seen three Ottawa/Boston games, and three Ottawa blowouts, I'm perfectly willing to say that they're for real.

Sure, the Bruins suck eggs, but Ottawa transitions from defense to offense quicker than any team in the league, and they are very creative in the offensive zone, while limiting scoring opportunities for opponents.

There is no way we can take Ottawa lightly ..that team is SCARY! If the Kings come out with a win I will be extremely happy!

Sorry, but that is completely incorrect... unless you mean top 15 in the West. 11 of the games that the Kings have played are teams out of the playoff picture right now. Compare that to the Sens, who have played only 7 games against teams out of the playoff picture right now.

The three teams at the bottom of the Eastern Conference are the Panthers, Capitals and Penguins. The Sens have played only one game against the three of them, combined, which was against the Panthers. The three teams at the bottom of the Western Conference are the Blues, Blue Jackets and Blackhawks. The Kings have played six games against those three, with a seventh tonight.

The Senators have had a tougher schedule than the Kings, tougher than most of the top 10 teams in the league, and tougher than a lot of people give them credit for.

Sorry, meant to post this link - http://teamrankings.com/nhl/7powerratings.php3

Pretty good site with power rankings based not only on records but also strength of schedule, based on other teams wins/losses - didn't mean to state "top 15" to mean league records.

I don't take Ottawa lightly - any team with that many wins is going to be good.
