I don't see how Cogs signing was a good idea period. He hasn't done anything in his career to show that he was anything and Murray overpaid for potential when there wasn't any shown. I hated that signing the day it happened, and I hate it more today then I ever did. Atrocious job by Murray. To improve our scoring he overpays a guy that hasn't done anything, and takes up some much needed $$$$$ in the process. Murray is god awful.

3 million are too much but if his price drops to 1,5 (re-entry waivers is it?) then I could see Ducks getting interested (although, it still might be too high price).

I would have to think so. Especially, as it wouldn't even be $1.5m at a later point of the season. It would be $1.2m now for the remainder of the season, and a bit below $1m in a couple of months. At that point, I think we would bite. But then again, at that point, some other teams might as well, and I sure hope that there would be a few more teams that get to pick before us, then.

Not really the right place for it, at all. If you actually want to discuss it, I can move it to the signing-thread, or look for last year's version of a "Fire Murray" thread, but I don't really want to help jumpstart that type of discussion by bumping those threads from the depths of the past, unless it's actually wanted.

He came up through the Montreal farm system. He's a fourth line agitator with some third line offensive potential. The game looked a bit fast for him during his short stint in Montreal, but he's a smart player who can probably fill a role.

He's not big, but he likes to stir it up. Don't think he fights.

According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, Maxwell claimed back by the Peg.

"WPG claims Ben Maxwell on waivers from ANA."

This is hardly surprising.

If they were the only team to put in a claim they can send him straight to the AHL without having to go through waivers again.

Agree with ya DuckStud, cogs was another bad deal that Murray made. All he has is speed with little skill finishing, bad bad deal I've not been impressed

I know... I thought it was funny, like stealing back an ex girlfriend.

I knew it wasn't going to work. But still no harm no foul. No risk, possible low reward. So while I knew it wouldn't work it's still not a "bad move."

Although I wouldn't have been happy if we had lost Beleskey because we had to waive him to keep Maxwell around.
