"We weren't getting the results that we wanted, but you look back to the Philly game and even the Jersey game, I thought we played good enough to win those games," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. "It's coming. They're working. It's still a process. For us to win games, there's no question that we have to play structured hockey. We have to play within the team concept if we're going to have success."
"I think the biggest thing is our attitude and how we approach different situations in the game," Moulson said of his club's turnaround. "Maybe earlier in the season, something bad would happen and we'd hang our heads a little bit and feel sorry for ourselves. But that's not the case anymore. I think that no matter what happens in the game, we keep coming. That might have been the best thing that happened to us for the rest of the season was going through a stretch like that. We're lucky we were able to cut it shorter than we have in previous years. We just have a real positive outlook on the rest of the season."
I consider us in better shape. We need to beat tampa. Only problem with winning is garth certainly wont make trades if we continue. "were good with what we have" no were not. His job is to put the best team on the ice as possible, winning or not this team can use improvments at every position but in net.

I have to disagree with this. His job, as defined by his boss, is to carry out Wang's vision for the team, which is to....................
Hell you would need a team of psychiatrists to figure this one out.
If you were to have asked me where we'd be right now 3 weeks ago I'd probably have said 12-15 points out. We're 8 points and have played 3 less games then OTT. While obviously not where you want to be, a 2-0-1 homestand and we will be right back in the mix.
Hey, on 12/6/10 we were already 16 points out. We were 5-15-5 at that point. A win tonight and we'll be 9-11-5. I understand being 2 games under NHL .500 isn't any thing to celebrate but it's 4 games ahead of last years pace, and how many people here we're saying "If we only could have won 4 more games durring that 21 game loseing streak we'd be within striking distance" last March when this team was clicking. It was right after Christmas last year when the team started to play well. Maybe this year they're starting a few weeks earlier, with those 4 extra wins. I don't know, just trying to be optimistic.

the key to getting back in the playoff hunt is to NOT play DP. Montoya has been stealing points for us. IF we can go on a 3 game winning streak to only be down 2 points to Ottawa then you watch this team start racking up points.
Also, if Wang REALLY IS letting Snow spend money then we need a big time D Man. Snow did it with Smyth but we need it a bit earlier in the season this year.
at the beginning of the year, I really thought this team was gonna sneak into the 7th or 8th spot
now that I see how many good teams are ahead of us, I do not see how the Isles can get in
Take a quick look at the standings, some of these teams will slowly go out of the playoffs while the Islanders sneak in. note that Ottawa who has 8th is 8 points ahead of the Isles but have 3 games on them.
