Your Atlanta brethren can help with this. Seems like all we ever knew were bad times. That's Winnipeg's problem know.

I may have to try a similar path considering how OSU basketball is doing this year.

It'd be tough, though. I really don't care for basketball.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

For those saying that they have hard times in other sports as well....I must just say that I may have you all beat.

None of my favorite teams have ever won a championship in their history, nor have they had a title game/series in my time of liking them, and only two of those teams ever have in any way.

NHL - Preds (second round is best-ever finish)
MLB - Padres (1998 World Series, swept by Yankees, 1984 World Series, beaten 4-1 by Tigers)
NBA - Clippers (losingest team in professional North American sports)
NFL - Chargers (1995 Super Bowl, demolished by 49ers)
EPL - Fulham FC (not an elite team)
NCAA F -WKU, UCLA, Purdue (no championships)
NCAA B - San Diego State, WKU, Purdue (no championships)

Stay away from these boards, that's somewhat helpful.

I am in the doldrums. I still get up, grab a beer and watch my Preds. I do admit, I was pretty upset during the Canucklehead game and switched the channel when it was 3 - 5 during the second. Watched some 'Hell on Wheels' on the DVR then back to the game right at 6 -5 (to my surprise) with less than a minute to go. (How in the hell did that happen?)

I have learned its best if I stay away from the boards in bad times, so I check this site, three or four times a day, waiting for the "Preds acquire _______" thread or the "Trotz/Poile/Horacek/Lambert Fired" thread.... If I see neither, I leave.

(not that I want anyone fired, necessarily, just that would be something I would need to read about)

When we're really sucking, I come on here and complain about it because only a few people in my real life care as much...or know as much...about the Preds as I do. And nothing is more annoying to me than when casual or non fans ask me "So, what's wrong with the Preds?!"...sigh. I vent here.

I also detach a little bit on game days. If we're kicking butt, I'll listen to "All I Do is Win" on the way to the game along with some select tunes from Wiz Khalifa, T.I. and Lupe Fiasco. If we're sucking, I listen to whatever...some boring station, maybe the pre-game show...without really paying attention. If we're winning, I get pissed when I miss the opening video because it pumps me up. When we're sucking, I don't care if I miss it. I cheer a little less, and the noise I do make is more negative (i.e. directed at the refs missing things, yelling at someone for missing a pass, whatever).

Sometimes to pull myself out of it I go on YouTube and watch stuff from better times...like the cell phone video one of you recorded of the moment we beat the Ducks to go to the 2nd round. Sometimes that works and other times it makes me more depressed.

And I'm blessed to have a job that when I go to it, reminds me of what is really important in life and distracts me from everything else.

I only look at the standings after a Preds win. After a loss I pretend they don't exist.
