I guess we didn't need to care that Bingo played last night
I was wrapped up watching the Sens game and just now I realised that Bingo played last night. I see they didn't even score - blanked 1-0 by those ******* Penguins. This puts Bingo at 9-14-1. After 24 games last season they were 10-11-3. I guess this is to be expected:
1. Locke is injured
2. Butler, Condra, Greening, Daugavins up in the O. Wick, Keller, and Benoit are gone. This accounts for 157 goals and 408 pts.
3. Smith is in Calgary - not really finding a defencive defenceman to replace him but he also had 50 pts.
4. Lehner is inconsistent...although I don't see him getting blasted 7-1 like he did vs Hershey last year.
I guess Parrish would be considered a replacement for Keller - and I'm considering his production will be equivalent at year's end. Other than that I'm looking down the roster and I'm just not seeing that potential from the others.
I dunno maybe DaCosta will tear it up...maybe he'll need a few more games to prove himself. Just really depressing seeing Bingo take in these losses.
Yeah - we had a bitter discussion about Butler in the "Least Favourite Senator" thread...I think he needs some time after recovering from the injury and adapting. I'll give him 10 more games and I expect 3 - 7 goals over that time, otherwise he may go into 'stache's doghouse.
9-14-1, 10-11-3. Looks pretty damn even to me. We still made the playoffs and we still got the Cup.
Locke, OB, Parrish are still out with injuries. That's an entire line of forwards. Once they come back and we get healthy we can turn this around. If there is one thing I learned from last season, it is have a little faith.
The acquisition of Klinkhammer is a replacement for K-Daugs in my mind. While it was outstanding that the Murray's traded a pick to help us out. And yes, I am thanking them for the move. It would have been more beneficial for us to get another defensemen. We are lacking help on the backend greatly. We need a Derek Smith/Benoit replacement.
I'd love for that to be Rundblad, but I highly doubt that will happen.

I agree, unlikely it will happen. Wwhen Carkner comes back (think he's back with the team as a scratch tonight), more than likely Lee will sit in the press box. The roster freeze is in about 10 days, so with Kuba not ready until the new year, we'll probably keep all 7.
OB, Parrish, Locke, Conboy, DD, Grybes, and now Godfrey..
Yup. I don't think Sens brass can do much right now to be honest, the B-Sens will just have to weather the storm. Rebuilding year means we've pretty much sucked the best young talent out of Bingo. Injuries on our blueline mean Rundblad's been in the NHL all year. Just not a lot of luck going Bingo's way.
