I got several inquiries about this kid and I've finally gotten a chance to see him play, so here's some (brief) observations about him.
The two things that impressed me most about Quick are his (no pun intended) quick reflexes and his focus. He moves extremely well. While he can play the butterfly style, I wouldn't necessarily call him the prototypical butterfly goalie because he can also play the stand-up style quite well also. In the game I saw him play in, he gave up a couple of rebounds but never lost his focus and composure on the second and third rebound shots by opposing players. He's not afraid to come out and aggressively challenge shooters. He plays his angles and covers the lower part of the net remarkably well. He has a pretty good glove too. While his rebound control is not bad, it could use improvement as can his puck handling, which is good but not great.
Other aspects that I like about Quick is his ability to make the tough or those occasional "unexpected" saves and his ability to follow the play. He's an average sized goalie but at times it seems like he's got eyes like a chameleon. He doesn't miss where the puck is often and he doesn't get rattled all that easily.
I hope this helps.
FYI, I'll see him again at least one more time before the season ends, so I'll try and keep everyone posted on his progress.
