Nice. I'm still shocked the refs missed that one, probably because Read didn't sell it. The TSN commentators were taking Leino to task for a blatant head shot.

I don't really understand why he did that. for most headshots you can tell that the intention to hit the head isnt there and just sort of happens, but Leino went made sure he made contact with his head by sticking his elbow out

should be 2 games IMO

I saw the video, it was blatant. I don't get it either. It's not like he played with Read or would have any reason to hate him.

Leino is pissed because the Flyers decided to pass on him in favor of Read and Read is FAR out playing Leino this year making the Flyers look brilliant and Leino (and the Sabres) like a chump.

Leino should also be charged and face a hearing for grand theft larceny...he's been putrid for Buffalo.

I actually thought he would do well too....apparently he's been too consumed with buying shoes. In interviews last year I questioned the dude's character and resolve. Seems like now he's showing his true colors to match his shoe collection...

There has yet to be an announcement. Kevin Porter's (Colorado) four game suspension was announced earlier tonight.

Edit: One game suspension.

1 game isn't enough.

don't care about previous history - should be at least 5 - the intent was there, you get rid of that you remove a lot of this **** from the game.

********.

A game is okay, considering it now puts an asterisk next to his name in the "repeat offender" column. It could have been a lot worse had he really connected with Read's head, but considering there wasn't even a minor penalty called, I'm good with Shanahan making him sit at all.

Should have been at the very least 2 games. Had it been Rinaldo elbowing Leino we all know Zac would get 3 games.

I agree and I like Leino, but the fact he did it to Read of all people, was definitely intended and should have held a higher discipline action.
